Up for sale is a 96 passat tdi diesel that gets 44 mpg i drive it average of 500 miles a week although it does need a little tlc.The car lacks power especially on the big hills the check engine light is on and it leaks a quart of oil every 800 miles.I bought this car for a work car and it has served me well bought another tdi so this car needs to go.The power issue has been there since i bought it has not got worse or better.All the power windows and locks work as does the cruise and the power sunroof heat works good a/c does not blow cold.The headliner is sagging some it is tacked up the tires are real good shape brakes work good although the ebrake doesnt work to well.The body of the car is decent no real rot although it does have some surface rust here and there not much though.Someone has painted both drivers doors at one time the paint is close but not a perfect match kinda dull.The car does have alot of miles on it but i have a stack of paperwork from the previous owner.The car has had synthetic oil run in it for years and the odometer was replaced by the dealer around 65,000 miles i have the paperwork on it thats why the odometer reads 267,000 but it has another 65,000 on it.Like i say i run this car at least 500 miles a week so it is reliable just a little slow on the hills it starts right up on the first roll everytime idles smooth.I removed the plastic engine cover and it looks like the oil leak is either the oil pan gasket or possibly the rear main seal.
