Vehicle Detail
NO Reserve Rust Free 1977 Fiat Spider.Complete California Car Being relisted due to non paying buyer. I know this should go without saying but please do not bid if you do not have the money. The car is sold on bill of sale as I bought the car and never tried to title it. That's the reason for the low price, otherwise I would be asking twice as much. Runs and drives well. Strong transmission, shifts through all gears with no grind.Though the car runs pretty well it is not registered, so picking it up and driving it home would be unwise unless you are the adventurous type, or live in Orange County. 1800 engine. runs strong but carburetor needs rebuilding. Carb has a tendency to run at high RPM's when cold (3500-4000), then after a few pumps of the gas returns to normal (1100). I suspect a rebuild would solve this. Custom interior which is still usable, though pretty worn out. Seats were custom and have more cushion than a normal spider. A pair of seat covers would tidy the interior up quite a bit. The previous owner did quite a bit of work on the interior including adding custom stitched wrapping to all the consoles. It probably looked great then, but its starting to look worn and show it's age. Shocks are good and rust free All gauges work, Wipers work, but pretty slow, which is common on these cars, especially when running custom stereo equipment. Custom JVC stereo system with 4 speakers. 2 in front map pockets, 2 in rear panels. Body is strait. Small dent in front grill corner (pictured). Looks like it would pop out pretty easily. Paint job is only a few years old but was very cheap, and while it looks good from a few feet away, up close you can tell where certain areas are beginning to crack and fade. The hood is especially bad with many ugly bubbles beginning to appear. A replacement big bump hood will come with the car if you so wish to swap it out in the future. The convertible top is good although the car is missing the small chrome trim to attach the side flap to the drivers side. The window is slightly cloudy and scratched but still quite usable and transparent. The top goes up and down in 2 seconds flat. Truly the most user friendly top ever invented! Tires still have a lot of life in them but the wheels are pretty ugly and beat up. A nice set of Cromodoras would make this car sparkle. The guibo (donut) needs to be replaced as this ones in poor shape. A replacement will be provided. I would not drive the car any long distances until this is replaced. The bumpers are currently off the car but will be provided. They are usable with some scuffs and scrapes. Battery is on its last legs. won't really hold a charge for more than a few days. I jump it and it starts first try though.I only drive the car around my neighborhood every once in a while because the tags are out. I am also the owner of a 1969 Spider, I really LOVE these cars. I bought this car as my next project but financial burdens from school and medical bills have forced me to sell my new project. Car is located in Costa Mesa Ca and available for viewing at request. I have the right to end the auction at any time. This would make a great rolling restoration for a fellow Fiat lover, or with a little work would make a solid daily driver. Car has not been registered in almost 2 years. Sold on Bill of Sale. Buyer responsible for pickup or shipping.
