Vehicle Detail

Do you need a car? Do you need a lot of SPACE to carry boxes or something else that won't fit in a sedan? Do you want a car that's BETTER than a Range Rover for a tenth of the price? What about something that's RELIABLE so that it won't break down? Or a car that is cheap to fill up at the pump and fix at the garage? The economy shrinking your budget? Do you need to tow things? Do you want a big car full of leather to look cool? The solution: 2001 NISSAN PATHFINDER Here is a review from Edmonds: "With plenty of power, off-road capability and luxury, this is one of the best midsize SUVs available." More specifically, the 2001 Nissan Pathfinder that I got for college. I am professional athlete and I went to school in New Jersey for 4 years. Now I'm done, moved back to Hawaii, and needing to sell my beloved Silver knight. And after comparing the PATHFINDER to my Range Rover at home, I can say with certainty that it is in fact, better than a Range Rover. The last time I checked, a new RR starts around 80k. So think of the deal you're getting on the Pathfinder! But enough of this vague talk, I'll describe the car and compare my experiences owning both the Pathfinder and the Range Rover to show that the Pathfinder does indeed come out ahead as the test winner. COMFORT In terms of comfort, the Pathfinder and it's well-bred competitor score out evenly. 1) Both have premium leather seats supported by seat heaters to keep you warm when it gets cold. 2) Both have premium speaker systems. Both have electronic seats. 3) Both have electric windows to keep your arms from tiring on a crank. 4) In fact, both have power everything (locks, windows, etc) 5) Both have a moonroof to let in glorious air and sun from above. 6) Both have EXTRA COLD AC's 7) The Pathfinder has a leather/wood trim and the RR has an all leather/cheap plastic trim. Here, the Pathfinder snags a point extra. Score: Pathfinder: 5 RR: 5 EFFICIENCY and POWER 1) The Pathfinder has a powerful 3.5 liter V6 with plenty of grunt. Whether it is towing something heavy or merging onto freeways, you're covered. And without much gas! On this car, I got around 20mpg, which meant that all that power didn't cost much at the pump. Compare that to the RR! The RR has a bit more engine size than the Pathfinder but that's not noticeable in performance but on the fuel gauge! 2) Both have powerful 4x4 action for towing and getting around in sand or snow. Score: Pathfinder: 4 RR: 3 STORAGE: 1) Both cars have the same amount of storage space as far as I can tell. And that amount is a lot! Whether it is tons of groceries or furniture, you're covered. 2) The Pathfinder has roof racks, and my RR does not. So the Pathfinder can actually care a lot more. Score: Pathfinder: 5 RR: 4 RELIABILITY This is where the PATHFINDER SHINES!!! 1) The amazingly engineered Pathfinder is reliable like crazy. I would trust this Pathfinder enough to drive to hell and back without worrying about any sort of breakdown. Seriously, the car is legit. The RR breaks down all the bloody time. It's a hell of a hassle when something goes wrong in the middle of nowhere. Luckily the Pathfinder never has this problem. 2) And when things do occasionally go wrong, the Pathfinder can be fixed by any mechanic and for very little money. The RR needs specific mechanics and incredibly expensive parts. The Pathfinder is boss. Score: Pathfinder:5 RR: 1 Total Score: Pathfinder: 19 RR: 13 THE PATHFINDER WINS! I love this car. It is perfect for anything you want. It was my college car so it has NOT seen the gruel of daily commutes. I used it to occasionally pick up groceries and to go on a few road trips. I've taken it on the sand a few times and the 4x4 is magic. Even though I have the tow-package, I never used it-- so it is brand new! Brakes and Battery have been replaced int he last 15 months. And the car has been regularly serviced for it's whole life. Before deciding to sell it, I took it into my local garage and had the guys do a serious checkup. They changed some spark plugs and gave the OK that it's running perfectly. I have a few extras to throw in as well. The following items I feel greatly add to the utility of this Sport Utility Vehicle: TomTom GPS First Aid Kit Tool Kit The car looks and runs great! I want it to go to a good home. Make a bid, send me an offer, or just shoot me a message with more questions. The Kelley Blue Book values the car between 6,350 and 6,650. The bad: There are a few small cosmetic signs of wear: a small 1" tear in the front passenger seat's leather (this is easily and cheaply fixed-- I haven't had time to deal with it) 2 tiny 3-inch paint scratches on the left back bumper corner a small amount of rust above the rear passenger fender (see photo) And here are the details again:Model: 2001 silver Nissan Pathfinder LE 4x4 sport utility, 3.5 Liter V6 4WD Automatic in great condition. Silver exterior and black leather interior with wood trim. Features: 4x4 (easy to use and works amazing in the deep snow and soft sand) Adjustable Roof Racks Heated Seats Tow Package (complete and brand new) Moon Roof New CD Deck Power everything: seats, windows, locks, moon roof, mirrors, etc Extra Cold AC (it's actually too cold for me at the coldest setting) Running Boards Tires with good treadBid Now!
