Hello and welcome to my auction, . Okay before we go any further I want to make sure all understand the body tag is a 1960 convertible and the pan is a 1959 and in the state of California you're suppose to go by the pan number so in all practical terms this is a 1959 . But it does have the correct 1959 doors with the refridgrator handles. I have already done a lot of work and had the car professionally stripped down to bare metal and the car was just put into etching primer and now just waiting for the primer and the buyers paint color and of couse minor body work for a very straight and beautiful car. The front pillers are in great shape and never smashed or damaged like many I have seen . The pan which is an original 59 is in great shape with no rust but does have the normal wear and tear for a 50 year old vehicle. If you want them dead on perfect I can install it brand new. I have one opening which will be this 1959/60 and I am offering this up with your choice of color of paint, color of interior ,color of convertible top and your choice of the original 36 hp 6 volt or the updated 1600 cc dual port ,both engines are fresh with all new parts and hasn't even been fired yet.You will be the first to drive this beetle and don't have to worry what has been spilled on the carpet, who has smoked in it or if the engine has been ran hard. The transmission is a totally rebuilt swing axle and I have already tested the transmission out with another motor and it works flawlessly. Okay so I don't get 101 questions all the body rubber will be replaced with new side moldings and window scraper moldings , new hood emblems ,engine lid and hood pulls as well as headlight doors and headlight glass, turn signals . All glass other then rear convertible glass will all be new . All new brakes,clutch,throwout barring,pressure plate will also be included. Okay next paint color and paint quality will be a show and shine quality which means no dents or dings or scratches and looks nice and shines fantastic and diffently turn heads. I am making this very clear because I have sold these restorations in the past and there is always that guy who thinks $15,000.00 is a lot of money for a beetle but he has obiously never built one or if you can even find a 59 or 60 to build. . I don't want to confuse anybody , so simply put once the reserve is hit you will receive a fully restored beetle convertible with show and shine quality paint of your choice of color in all the top of line paints and primers no cheap stuff will be used , standard original size tires with hubcaps and choice of engine , standard interior in your choice of color , vinyl convertible top with padding and headliner and all items that need replaced wull be replaced. If you think this is to much there is always cheaper 68-79's that can be built much cheaper and easier to find. Oh I almost forgot , this also has the extremely hard to find and near perfect CONVERTIBLE ONLY "ENGINE LID" . I have seen just the engine lid sell for $1,000.00 and not this good of shape. There is no aftermarket that I know of or that I would use if there was . All serious offers will be considered and i reserve the right to end auction and sell to highest bidder so please be serious. I almost forgot regardless of the price I do include an original type radio with no frills but a good radio and the dash is not all cut up and won't be and the antennea will be placed on passenger side as original. Also pictures and video will be sent during restoration if so desired keeping the owner in the loop as to how the car is progessing and once the car is finished virtually every part and every inch of the car is pictured and driving around. I perfer an in person inspection prior to final payment or an have an independant inspetor come in your place but I do understand that not all want to spend the money so that is why I go the extra mile on pictures and video.This car will be finished no later then 45 days from the time it is paid for and could be much , much sooner . I want to take a minute to fully explain that what makes this deal work for both buyer and seller is I am fully funded to get the car done in a timely fashion and not sitting for 6 months to a year. I can have the car done in a month if it sells quickly and I get going. I had a very serious buyer who wanted to change the payment terms and I want all to understand I am not getting rich . My shop rent alone is $1,250.00 a month and there is around $8,000.00 in parts alone and we are not even talking the purchase of the vehicle and the sand blasting of the entire car and powder coating of suspension and not one but two engines ready to drop in and go. I am ready to hit the ground running but I am not going to go build a custom you pick all the colors and not be at least paid half. That is only fair since I am doing the car for one persons taste and also when the car is finished it will be worth far more then $16,000.00 and that is okay by me but if I have to build the car , it will be my colors and I will not consider selling it for less then $25,000.00. This is a REAL CONVERTIBLE and not a hack job . I have removed every last inch of old filler,paint and I am starting with a fresh canvas.So all will know when the car is done what they have . 1. I will include an upgraded canvas convertible top 2. I will also include an original mohair headliner as found on originals 3.
