This Westfalia was purchased new in March of 1976 by Mr. Strangeman at Bob Himsl Volkswagen in San Jose, California. It still retains its original California Blue plates and dealer frame (I have the front plate). The original exterior and interior look amazing for being 36-years-old; even the original key buzzer works when the key is inserted. It even has a nice CD player and speakers. This is a REAL CALIFORNIA SURVIVOR TIME CAPSULE. In my opinion, the front seats are too nice to recover as they have only a small split, so I left them original. This shows the true originality of the Westfalia. Of course, it has some very minor parking lot dings to be expected for being 36-years-old. This bus has been garaged since new, which has preserved its originality and exceptional condition to date. The poptop canvas is original to the bus and has a small tear but that's it. The good news is this Westfalia is ROCK SOLID, untouched, and dry as a nut. The camper has its correct 2.0 Fuel Injected engine that was rebuilt 5 years ago and runs and drives great. It just passed California emissions with flying colors. It’s fun and easy to drive, so anyone can drive her. It comes with all curtains, mosquito net, and iceboxes to keep things fresh while camping with the family. All the lights and blinkers are working as they should. You will be HARD-PRESSED to find another like this one. It can sleep 2 people up top and 2 people in the bed very comfortably.
