Vehicle Detail
1963 Ford Fairlane 500 2 Door Hardtop Up for sale is my 63 hardtop. The car had a ground up restore completed in 2003 that included a fully beadblasted body and frame (unibody frame). The car was painted to show condition in Dupont Black basecoat/clearcoat and the interior was fully restored with red and white vinyl seats, red carpet and white headliner. The dash and jambs were all painted dupont red basecoat/clearcoat. It retains all of its original body panels and all are straight as an arrow with no cutting, welding or bondo needed ever. I have never seen straighter lines on another 63. The floor and trunk are rock solid. The floor had minor work (professionally done) but the trunk is all original. Inside, the entire car was covered in sound deadening material. Blaupunkt speakers hidden in the dash and Alpines in the decklid. The original AM radio is in the dash just not currently hooked up. It has 17" Crager SS wheels with Kumho low profile tires with plenty of tread. The engine is a very strong 68' Mustang 302 with performance parts added including full length Hooker headers, Edelbrock intake, and a Holley 650 double pumper. Throaty dual exhaust is new from last year and a three speed toploader with a B&M shifter. Last year I replaced the carpet, exhaust, all new front end bushings, had the generator rebuilt, and new brakes all around. This year I had the rear bumper stripped and painted thunderbolt pewter basecoat/clearcoat and it looks great. The front bumper is very nice along with the rest of the chrome and stainless. It has been almost ten years since the restore. The paint is still an awesome 7/10 with very minor blemishes indicative of a ten year old paint job. No dings, dents or through the clear coat scratches. I took some pictures to show the reflection in the paint. Overall it is still great and still better than most at the local show level. The interior is still a strong 8/10 and is as comfortable as the day it was installed. This car has no problems, issues, or leaks. It is a car that you can drive back home anywhere. 99% of the people trying to sell a car (expecially on ebay) would classify it as a show car and although it is very close and would take very, very little to be one, it is a driver. I would rather point out the smallest detail and be honest than someone be dissapointed. That being said: email me with any questions and leave a phone number if you would like a call along with a best time to call. I am in northern NY and would be happy to show the car by appointment (it is garaged year round). If you pick up the car in person, I will include everything that I have for it including the original 221 V8 (rarest ford v8 ever made) and a driveshaft that has been restored and cut for a C4 automatic. If you are not picking it up in person I will help in any way possible with shipping. Canadian buyers are welcome but no other countries without contacting me first please. This is your chance to own the cleanest, straightest 63 Fairlane around. I have it priced low for a quick sale. Much lower than I believe the car is worth, and a huge amount lower than what I have invested. This will make someone a great classic and hopefully they will enjoy as much as I have.
