Vehicle Detail

Up for Bidding is my 1967 Porsche 912. It was originally purchased new in Spokane, WA, then sold to another owner after less than a year who had it until 2010 when I bought it. It is Chassis # 460486, Color Code 6002 (Polorot or Polo Red), Engine # 752669. It also has the original matching 902/ 5 speed Dog-leg. Mechanical The engine has an older rebuild by Meaney Racing in Bellevue. The builder, Ralph Meaney, is a well-known historical racing figure (1970 24 hours of Daytona placed 1st in GT2, 14th Overall in a 911S). It has the big-bore kit with dual Italian-Made Weber 40 IDFs. It runs and sounds great, shifts well and is incredibly fun to drive. I've also embedded a video showing some driving clips. There are some drips, but nothing that leaves anything substantial. I put a quart of oil in it every six-months to a year depending on the frequency of my driving just to be safe. Interior The car has had a partial interior restore. Black carpet to replace the original grey. Rebuilt seats, new foam, and German vinyl from Autos Intl. The dash was recovered as well, but instead of using all new German vinyl, we decided to use some of the original seat covers which were in great shape and only replaced due to a split seam. This can be seen on the flat portion and speaker cover of the dash. I know it isn't period correct, but I preferred having the character of the original vinyl. I have the rear seat backs out of the car as I was going to fix some of the frayed vinyl on one of the seats, but I liked it without them in and no one I know can fit/is willing to ride back there. They will be included with the sale. The headliner looks good as well. Body The exterior was resprayed in original Polo Red years earlier. It is showing its age a bit and you can see some hazing. It could use a cut and polish as it has yet to receive one. Far from a "5-footer" as the pictures show, but in sunlight you can see the haze. It has some scratches and chips here and there but it is straight and the panel gaps are great. Chassis The front suspension pan was replaced by the PO. Also the battery tray panel and gas tank support has had some patching as well, most-likely from battery drip. These can be seen in the pictures. The front floor pan section was replaced and the entire interior was coated and sound-deadener was added. I can't talk about a pre-1976 non-galvanized Porsche without mentioning the factory option of rust. This car has some rust and I won't try to say "Low rust" or give you some arbitrary percentage about how "rust-free" it is. Instead I will talk about all places I've found it, show pics and let you decide. Under the hood is where the majority of it is. The hood cowl lip has corrosion. There are some other spots where it looks like moisture accumulated in the past 5 decades and caused some corrosion. Obviously there were the typical battery leak problems which is why they were patched. There is also some rust at the drain holes in the doors. On the driver side corner of the rear window, there are a couple small bubbles in the paint. The good news is the entire front pan can be icepicked, no problem, including the rest of the chassis panels. Structurally, it is solid. Closing This has been a very fun car. I have no reservations about driving it distance. I have made several Seattle to Portland trips at 70+ mph no problem. Always garaged, only driven on clear days. I have it in one of my garages in Seattle less than a mile from Aker's Porsche (616 engine masters) and am more than willing to work with you to arrange a PPI with them if you so choose. Please don't hesitate to message me with any questions. Details Clear title, sold As-is. I have it for sale locally and reserve the right to end this auction early. I require a $1,000 deposit within 24 hours of closing via Paypal. Full payment within one week via Cashier's check Fed-Exed or wire transfer. No international sales. Buyer is responsible for shipping but I will aid in coordinating with shippers if necessary. Zero feedback bidders must contact me prior to bidding.
