Vehicle Detail
I purchased this beautiful Gran Prix on Ebay from the second owner in Oklahoma. I flew to Tulsa and drove it home to Charleston SC.It did not skip a beat, it ran great and had not problems at all. When I tell you in this add that you can fly in and drive it home I really mean it and would not be afraid to head out to the west coast. I bought the car because I had one just like it in 1977 and enjoyed it so much I just had to do it again. I am getting older now and have began to sell my toys so my wife of 47 years and I can retire and travel some. Since I bought the car, along with showing it in local shows and taking long rides with my bride, I have kept all the maintenance up to date and made a few improvements. I replaced the original shocks, Installed a new ac compressor and shifted to r 134 freon. The ac works great and keeps the car cool on our hot Charleston summers.I also did a complete tune up, replacing the original spark plugs and wires. I had the carburator rebuilt at the same time.I installed a new Delco battery last year. The car had its original paint untill last month when after thirty five years it just would not hold a shine. I had a local restoration shop strip it to bear metal and start over. During the stripping and painting we could not find any rust anywhere on the car. There were minor door dings and a couple small dents but no major damage or indications of prior repairs. We used PPG base coat clear coat system and hand buffed the whole car.I found a local upholstery shop that had some left over original vinyltop material and had the top replaced. The original top was in good shape and could have been dyed but I could not do that. 1977 was the last and most beautiful full size Grand Prix built. The Firethorn red exterior and interior combination to me was the best looking ones made. Every time I drive this car I get so many compliments and thumbs up signs It just makes it more fun to drive. I have a fortune invested in this car and do not expect to get it back, I have set a fair reserve, and hope the next owner will enjoy it as much as I have. Happy Bidding and Good Luck
