Vehicle Detail

Up for sale is a 92 Dodge Daytona Iroc R/T. 1 of about 480 ever made. 1 of 150 for the year and color. It has the high power 2.2 DOHC turbocharged engine mated to a heavy duty 5 speed transmission. also knows as the Turbo III The car is 99% rust free. on the body there is a little surface rust here and there because of the poor paint. But the underbody is clean and everything is solid! The engine was rebuild about 30k miles ago with the common issue upgrades done already. Which include: Jackson timing belt pulley upgrade, head welded so it wont crack, Balance shafts removed. The car is driving work in progress. The clutch is newer. It runs, drives, shifts nicely. Here is a list of things that have been done, and the things that need to to be done. Recent work: New headliner (local shop $150) New rear brakes and bearings New shocks/struts New fuel tank, walboro 255 fuel pump, and filter New battery from the battery center New Greddy type RS Blow off valve (stock blow off valve included) New Turbo XS Boost controller Used pioneer cd player Cone air filter (stock intake also included) I have used r/t side moldings because the ones on the car have a few cracks, they need painted with the car. Full 3 Inch exhaust Car had the interior pulled and the car was dynomated to help reduce the exhaust sound. Everything was cleaned while it was out. Mobile 1 Oil changes Work it needs: Of course it needs paint Tires have dry rot cracks so they need replaced Drivers window switch needs replaced (you need to tap it for it to work) Side moldings have some cracks Has a lifter tick on first starts Leaks coolant somewhere possibly a turbo line, cant seem to find the source. Speedo sensor needs replaced it only works sometimes. 160mph speedo jumps so it was replaced with a 140. The 160 will be included. A/C condenser and lines needs installed if you want a/c Uses a little oil which I think is normal for turbo cars. Car has infinity sound system with amplifiers on each speaker. One speaker isnt working. The used pioneer cd player works when it wants to. These cars are rare, fast, and reliable. Once the turbo spools it will spin tires until about 65mph easily. The car is on 13psi which is about stock, but these have been known to handle a lot of power. So the car is well within its safe limits to be reliable for a long time. Even with the work it needs this car should make a few hour trip with no problems. Buyer is responsible for shipping or pickup. I would gladly meet a shipper to ship the car after payment has cleared. Car is sold as-is with no returns. Pickup in person: Please bring photo ID. Deposit is non refundable. Bid with confidence. Clean up to date title in hand. Allpar.com Quote: "The Dodge Daytona R/T was the real performer, with a 224 HP intercooled twin cam 2.2 Turbo III engine only; this engine was shared only with the Spirit R/T in the US. Speed topped out at around 150 and 0-60 in around 6 seconds.About 250-300 R/Ts were made in 1992. About 50% Red, 25% Black, 25% White. The Daytona IROC racing bodies were well liked by the IROC drivers; they had 355 cubic inch V-8 engines.Despite the power and speed of Daytona R/T, which was barely marketed and remains almost unknown outside hard-core Mopar circles - sales dropped about as far as they could. Fewer than 11,000 Daytonas were sold, and they could hardly have been profitable with so many options and varieties at that level of production" From Moparautos.com: "The 224 hp Turbo III motor was available in only one Daytona model, the top of the line IROC RT. IROC stood for International Race of Champions. This was a race in which identically prepared cars competed against each other. Up through 1990, Chevrolet Camaros were used in the race. Beginning in 1991, Dodge Daytonas replaced the Camaros, powered by 490hp 355 cid V-8's powering the rear wheels. Hoping to capitalize on the IROC name in the same way that Chevrolet so successfully did, the IROC RT replaced the Shelby as the top Daytona. Along with the Turbo III engine, the IROC RT also received a performance tuned suspension, gas-charged front struts and shock absorbers, a 1.12-inch solid front stabilizer bar and a 1.13-inch rear stabilizer bar. The only transaxle available was a 5-speed high-performance manual, with a 2.76 overall top gear ratio. The brakes were vented 4-wheel disc with optional antilock. The tires were now Z-rated P205/55ZR16 on new 16 X 6-inch cast aluminum "Ninja" wheels.
