1977 Pontiac Trans Am, Special Edition "Smokey and the Bandit." 12,381 original miles. This car is 99% FACTORY original and in excellent condition. Paint, Decals, Interior, Drivetrain are the original items as installed / applied by Pontiac employees over 35 years ago. Rare, nearly impossible to find items such as the original Uniroyal Steel Belted Radial tires, belts, hoses, clamps, wipers and dated wires and plugs are the original ones to the car. Many factory inspection marks and stickers on the carburator, radiator, master cylinder, distributer cap are clear and evident throughout. The exhaust pipes, mufflers and tips are original, but the catalytic converter was removed and a straight pipe installed in that section, however, the original catalytic converter is still with the car and is in excellent shape. I cannot stress the originality of this car enough - it would take a lot of time, effort and money to find all of these parts and they won't be in as good condition as on this car. As far as I know, these rare parts are not being reproduced anywhere. The car has only been driven 13 miles in the last 20 years as can be seen on the NY State vehicle inspection sticker. The car fires right up and everything works as it should, including the clock. (Admittedly, I have only driven this car on and off a trailer for show purposes - the car received a "Gold" certificate at the innaugural Muscle Car and Corvette Nationals show in 2009). This is a museum-quality example of arguably one of the most desirable Trans Ams of all time.
