No reserve listing This is my 1984 Ford Mustang SVO Turbo couple with 70,031 original miles. This is possibly the cleanest, most-original SVO you will find for sale anywhere. It is a turn-key car- ready to use and enjoy. This very car was just displayed in the Greater Cleveland Auto Rama as an exhibit. This is a rare and highly collectible car- and an important piece of muscle car history. The Mustang SVO is a very special car in the history of Ford, and of the Mustang. The car was designed as an ultra-high-performance model by SVO (Special Vehicle Operations, the precursor of SVT) and was meant to be the absolute pinnacle of Mustang performance of the day. The car featured technology that wasn't seen in any other American muscle car including a turbocharged and intercooled motor, Koni adjustable shocks, 16-inch aluminum wheels, etc. As a result it cost nearly $6000 MORE than a Mustang GT of the day. The performance, handling and acceleration were far superior to that of the 5.0L car, but few were sold due to the high cost. As a result, the SVO Mustang is a highly-sought collector's item. I consider this SVO to be one of the finest ones you'll find for sale anywhere. The car is clean, nice and in outstanding condition for the age. The paint shines beautifully and the body is clean and looks great. The car runs beautifully and it is smooth, strong and tight all around. The engine runs great, the turbo boosts strongly, and the 5-speed manual transmission shifts beautifully. The car runs, drives and looks excellent. What's very rare is that the air conditioning works perfectly. This is possibly the most rust-free of any SVO you'll see- the car is clean and excellent- while these cars were prone to rust, this one has very little. The paint is beautiful and clean (has been at least partly repainted- the original paint was not of high quality on these cars) and the underside is superbly clean and solid. Please view the photos. You might find a bubble where the paint was nicked, and that's about it. The original aluminum alloy wheels are in great shape, and the tires are newer with great tread. This is a highly equipped car, with A/C, power windows and locks, leather, etc. The interior is in excellent condition. The leather seats are very nice, and the carpets, plastics, upholstery, etc are all clean and in great condition for the age. This is a great, fun and fast car that is a blast to drive. Remember this is a nearly 30-year old car so it isn't brand new, but it sure is a nice one. Own a piece of American Muscle Car history that you can actually drive every day! You can fly in and drive this car home. The nearest airport is Cleveland, OH. I see no reason you couldn't drive this car anywhere, though of course I can not make a guarantee. The only thing I can fault is that when the car is warmed up, the idle will surge. If you turn the car off and back on again, the surging stops. I believe this is something with the air meter- it needs to be cleaned or replaced. This does not affect the reliability or driveability of the car and it hasn't bothered me enough to do anything with it.
