Vehicle Detail
“Barn Find”! 1918 Buick 106” wheelbase, Model “E-Four-Thirty-Five” five passenger, Open Model Touring Sedan in very nice condition. The car appears to be in original condition and is running. This second owner car was recently found in storage in South Florida in a warehouse and was unused for over 25-years, but driven regularly up until the late 1970’s. The car has its original electric start 4 cylinder “Valve-in-Head” engine which runs beautifully and the car has its original leather interior in good condition. The car has a 3-speed manual transmission which shifts properly but I beleive the clutch needs a slight adjustment. The canvas top is in good condition with the exception of some tears on the front corners; maybe an easy repair. The headlights work as well as the interior dash light. The dash mounted oil guage shows good oil flow and the oil has been recently changed. The fuel tank was removed, cleaned and reinstalled as well as a new electric fuel pump installed. The paint is very shiny but has “age cracks” around the front cowling but the car presents itself very well. There are no major dents or dings and the body is very straight. There appears to be little surface rust in limited areas but nothing serious at all. The car has its original wood spoke wheels that are in excellent condition, the tires are in good condition, hold air but are old and "out-of-round". The wood floors and sideboards are in perfect condition and the undercarriage is excellent. The issues with the car that I am aware of are water leakage around the water pump which I understand requires a repair to the waterpump shaft, speedometer cable is missing and the canvas top as previously mentioned. Comes with the original side curtains but are in poor condition as well as an original 1918 Buick Sales brochure. It’s hard to find such an original car in such condition! I am no expert about this car but have learned a lot from collectors, please ask all questions prior to bidding. Due to the age of this automobile inspections are encouraged. Contact me if additional photos are needed or if you have any questions. Car sold as-is and all shipping expenses are buyer's responsibility.
