For Sale - 1993 Volvo 245 (Wagon) Automatic... comes with 4 Cooper snow tires on steel wheels, full front and rear car bra, box of new parts.This is a great running car, just passed PA inspection and emission tests with no trouble. Clean title in hand, car was my daily driver and never gave me any trouble whatsoever. 1993 was the last year that Volvo made the famous 240, a car that was celebrated for its safety and durability. The 240 was legendary for its long lifespan with little maintenance, many examples run for 300,000 miles or more.This car would make a GREAT first car; it is not very quick, very easy to drive, and Volvos are extremely safe in accidents. A very solid car that would take anything a new driver could through at it and last many years. (Also is AMAZINGLY cheap to insure!)The Good:- Strong runner, solid frame and body. No accidents or frame rust.- PA inspected w/ emissions until February 2013- Leather interior is in great condition for its age, only blemish is a slight tear in the drivers seat. Very comfy.- Power windows, power locks, power mirrors, heated seats, ABS, Airbags- Tons of storage space- Large gas tank, great for long highway trips- Pioneer CD playerThe Bad:- Odometer is dead at 186,000 ... car has only been driven about 5,000 miles since then. Car is currently registered odometer exempt so this won't cause any trouble. A very common problem with Volvo 240s, and its only a $25 dollar fix, I just never felt the need to take care of it (car is fine otherwise). All other gauges work and are accurate. - Paint is peeling a bit on the roof/under the roof rack. Paint is fairly clean everywhere else on the car- One summer tire has a slight valve stem leak, not very bad though. I have had to check the air about every 2 weeks. Car has just had a plug and wire job done with Bosch IR Fusion spark plugs. Car will also come with a new timing belt, new alternator belt, new valve cover gasket, new performance camshaft (easy install for a performance boost if you ever feel the need. Cam is literally a 15 minute job), new turn signal cover and a new fuel filter for an oil change among other things. Buyer is responsible for pickup/delivery. I will not ship this car. On Apr-09-12 at 07:30:42 PDT, seller added the following information: Just wanted to answer a couple of questions that I had gotten. First, the AC does not work in the car, its an extremely common problem in all Volvos. I believe a leaky hose somewhere is the problem, as the compressor seems to work. Second, the automatic transmission in this car is very strong, no slipping or grinding and it shifts smoothly through all the gears. The AW70 transmission is notoriously robust, so I would expect this one to last many more miles with proper care. Third, there is a slight problem with brake feel. Previous owner had done pads + rotors on all four wheels right before I bought the car. I believe that he neglected to bleed the brakes at the time so the pedal feel is slightly "mushy". Stopping distance isn't affected at all. Only reason I never took care of it is that I don't have the equipment or space to bleed the brakes myself.On Apr-11-12 at 10:15:53 PDT, seller added the following information: Since I've gotten a few questions about this, I just wanted to reinforce that the car is being sold AS IS.
