Porsche 1984 944. Great original car with low miles. Straight solid body. Original undercoating intact. A really solid original non butchered car. Just the way you like to find them. Original red paint should detail well but the pictures in this listing are after it was washed and in real life it is not quite that shiny. But in real life the overall condition is impressive. . A couple paint blisters on the roof. Some of the black accents are thin and red shows through. The car has been in storage for three years but started right up and i drove it 75 miles to my home. It ran incredibly well, tight, very responsive, the 5 sp gearbox was smooth.. The wheel bearings or brakes are dragging a little and the car probably needs to be "sorted" out after sitting in one place for three years. . The interior is excellent except for a few cracks in the dash. This car has obviously been well taken care of and with detailing should look very nice. I do not have a reserve, but will start bidding at $1500. I reserve the right to sell locally but do not expect to do so. I cant emphasize enough that this is a well preserved original not a modified or poorly restored car. Great colors . I believe the shown mileage to be accurate, and it drives like a car that was never abused with that mileage. Because the score is so high and mileage history verifies this is low mileage i want to include this in listing. My best effort is to copy, cut and paste some of it here. Sorry i am the wrong generation to know what i am doing here. I remind you this car may need to be gone through and the paint is not perfect, but it is a great car to start with. It shows ten dealer stamped or signed servicing from 1984 to 1995 with all the gradual mileage increases up to 38411 in 1995 . below is the registration info from the history report with mileage in 1999 of around 45000 miles. So this is a well documented low mileage car, it appears three previous owners. Significant because undoubtedly this car is going to sell without reserve at a bargain price and someone is going to get a well documented car. I received a couple questions about the dragging bearings or brakes. So today i jacked up each wheel and turned by hand. Each wheel turned but did not free wheel for more than a couple revolutions and they all had a clear dragging sound. I am not a porsche expert, but it definitely sounded like the brakepads. The rotors are not badly scored but have some surface rust/discoloration. I THINK this is just from sitting and if the rotors were turned and pads replaced the problems should be solved. Would i drive the car home many hundreds of miles? Probably not, but i have tools and a good jack if someone wanted to do the brakes before they left. Again local driving and sorting out issues make more sense....
