1971 Volkswagen Karmann Ghia Convertible 1600cc I am selling a 1971 Karmann Ghia convertible (glass heated rear window) in great condition. This car was bought in 2003 and is almost completely restored. I drive it every time the day is beautiful outside (several times a month 150 miles or so). It is an awesome car and receives an amazing amount of attention and conversations. It runs great and is a quick little car. In late 2009 the car was completely tore down and the entire unibody painted guards red. This wonderfully preserved little roadster needed little work, and all the body panels are original to the car and there were no signs of rust and showed no signs of ever being in an accident. The engine is original 1600cc rebuilt in 2009. The original chrome bumpers have a ding on the front, but there is no flaking and still shines nicely. All new body seals, dash cover, custom real wood dash face and new carpet were installed when the car went back together. There are two chips in the paint since that paint job was finished, however there are no dents. We had decided to live with the two small patched holes in the black vinyl top (because it is always down J and garaged) and the headliner and padding was removed with the intent to install new ones but that was never completed. The seat covers might need to be replaced due to a pulled seam on the rear seat and one small hole in the driver’s seat. This car is a beautiful example of a solid, straight & very well kept car.
