No reserve listing. This is my 1986 Mercedes-Benz 300E with only 84,457 original miles. This is a rust-free Oklahoma car that runs and drives perfectly. The air conditioning blows cold, and the car needs nothing to be a great daily driver. I have a book of DEALER-STAMPED service records for the car. This must be one of the finest 300Es for sale anywhere in the country. This was built in the era when Mercedes had no real competition, so rather than building to a price point, they just built the finest automobile possible and charged accordingly. These "golden-age" Mercedes-Benz cars as I call them, were built from approx 1972-1990. Never before or since have cars been built to be so reliable, dependable and long-lived. It is not uncommon to see these cars accumulate 300,000 miles or more. It is quite uncommon to find a 300E with such low miles, and in RUST-FREE condition. This car was from Oklahoma, where it never had exposure to salt or snow. When built this was among the safest cars on the road, and it has features found on much newer cars such as a driver's airbag, safety cage construction, anti-lock brakes and more. This car still carries the ORIGINAL PAINT. It has never been in any accidents, nor had any paint work or body work. It is completely original. The underside of the car is also rust-free and it is outstandingly clean. The interior of this car is superb for the age. The leather seats are in good condition, and the carpets, upholstery and interior plastics are clean and in nice condition. It shows only what I'd consider to be normal wear for the age. This car runs and drives superbly well. It starts perfectly and runs smoothly and quietly. The engine is powerful and butter-smooth. The transmission shifts perfectly, and the brakes, handling, and steering are all tight and responsive. The car accelerates powerfully and doesn't smoke, hesitate or misbehave. The ride is beautifully smooth and well-controlled. The car will cruise smoothly at 90 mph with no effort. This car doesn't need any known mechanical work. This car is an absolute pleasure to drive. It sounds cliche, but they just don't build cars like this anymore. You can fly in and drive this car home. I would trust it to make a long drive anywhere. I feel very strongly that you will not find a 300E in better cosmetic or mechanical condition anywhere. The nearest airport is Cleveland, OH. If you wish you can have the car shipped. Please expect normal wear and tear for the age of the car. Here is a list of every known fault: the radio does not turn on; some paint on the top of the trunklid is flaking off; there is a very small ding by the right rear tail light; some of the power seat controls can be finicky; the clearcoat has worn off the aluminum wheels.
