Vehicle Detail
1969 Oldsmobile 98 Convertible Offered at no reserve, you are bidding on my 1969 Olds Convertible. It is in extra good mechanical condition, having had approximately $4000. spent on it mechanically. Engine was rebuilt by Boyds machine in Norman Okla. They have a good reputation for high quality work. Included in the work was new pistons, bearings, oil pump, valves and springs etc. It also received a new carburetor, fan clutch, fan belt, motor mounts and exhaust system. Brakes were redone including master cylinder, wheel cylinders, flex hoses and front wheel bearings. Front end rebuilt replacing all worn parts. Gas tank was flushed and sealed. Car was originally a light green color. Body has been stripped to bare metal and put in epoxy primer. It is 99% a solid car., which is unusual for a convertible. It does have a few places on the body that need to be worked (nothing major). Right quarter panel may have been changed at one time. It does have a small crease in the back part of the trunk lid which doesn't show up in the picture. Car has power steering , power brakes, and air conditioning (I haven't charged the air conditioner to try to get it working). Runs and drives excellent. The things it still needs, that are not obvious, are the air system charged, the gas gage working , the odometer repaired (speedometer works) Interior and top need to be redone. I have a top that I got with the car that may be a new one ( I'm not sure). Carpet has been replace and looks good. Bumpers have been removed recently for replating, but have not been replated. If you buy the car I can reinstall them if you like. Power windows all work and power seat was working. Power top is, I think, low on fluid. I put the top up but had to assist it some. Odometer shows 110261 miles and is probably close to correct but is not currently working. What would you have in one(dollar wise), if you bought a good solid running vehicle like this, but needing to be restored and then spent approximately $4000. on the mechanicals and another $1000. plus having the car stripped to bare metal, and put in epoxy primer? Car has current tag and title but is being sold "as is" " where is" with no guarantees. Bid a fair price and you will enjoy this vehicle, as it is a pleasure to drive. If you have any questions, I prefer talking to you directly on the phone, rather than emails. Please call me at 405-878-9775 Good luck in your bidding. Thanks! Clifton Hill
