OVERSEAS BUYER DIDNT COME THROUGH!! HAVING TO RE-LIST- All real Henry Ford Steel original 5- Window Coupe, Suede black with pinstripes and a 450+ Horse Power 468ci Big Block!!!! Are you kidding me???!!! DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON A FIBERGLASS REPRODUCTION OR A MODERN STEEL BODY!! ONLY BUY TRUE ORIGINAL FORD STEEL!! SUMMARY- 2 Years ago I has this Traditional Hot Rod built for me. It only has 2400 miles on it and is as new. Ive never taken it to the drag strip and its never been raced!!! The economy had hit my business so sadly I miss part with it. The cost to build was over $45,000!! This is a real old skool hot rod- Not a piece of crap rusty Rat Rod!! METAL- We started with a clean rust free 1930 Model A 5-Window coupe. The top was chopped 3", the door handles were moved behind the door for a custom look, the rear tail lights were "frenched in". Doors are unique as they are "flush mounted", meaning that we have made a door sil and they fit flush with the body when closed. Doors and trunk have a perferct fit and finish. We then coated the entire underside and interior with Speed Liner to inhibit rust and reduce nose. The dash is custom made, all metal with Stuart Warner retro guages. We shot the dash in metal flake black and silver, then clear coated and pinstripped it. The gear shift is over 30" tall and goes almost to the roof for a "Rat Fink" look. The firewall is a solid piece of T-6 Billit Aluminum which was been machined, polished and finned like they did back in the day. Exhaust is also custom made- Zoomies with a baffle in every pipe. For added strength we hand made 1/2" rolled steel "spider-web" gussets in between the pipes. Functional yet very unique and kool. We also replaced the stock flimsy firewall to radiator struts with 1/2" square steel which we twisted and cross twisted for a retro 60s look. This was done a lot on the front forks and sissy bars of choppers. So we incorprorated this into the engine bay to give it another one of a kind look. Custom hand welded radiator cover is a true work of art!! Anywhere you go you will be the only one who has a front end like this one!! The original frame was replaced with a hand made re-inforced rails to accomodate the massive rear tires and updated suspension. Front suspension is chrome shocks and rear suspension is aluminum coil overs. We then painted the frame in gloss black and pinstripped it for an old skool look. Pinstriping was all done by the famous Ron Myers!! INTERIOR- Traditional White tuck and roll with Orange Piping. Push Button seat belts for both driver and passenger. Standard key ignition and also a hidden "push button" ignition switch. Turn signals and hi/low beam lights. Moon Eyes orange metal flake 3 spoke steering wheel. Uni Steer all chrome rack and pinion steering. Trunk is Speed liner coated with a custom painted 15 gallon fuel cel. All steel lines and couplings. Duralast battery. We've added a hidden "Kill Switch" in the trunk ( see pic ), so when you pack the car just hit the switch and the car cannot be started!! Truck release is hidden for a clean rear decklid look. We also had to "mini-tub" the trunk to make room for the huge rear tires. The Front window has the tradition option of "Tilting out" on hot days for extra ventilation. MOTOR/ENGINE- What a beast!!! We started with a Big Block 454, then bored it out to 468 cubic inches!! Solid cam, 9:1 compression, Holly 750 Carb, Edelbrock Dominator polished intake manifold, all combine to give this monster a very conservative 450+ horsepower!!! We have linked that to a Turbo 400 Automatic transmission to handle all the torque and tire buring horsepower. All those torqs are delivered to a Ford 9" rear end which we had custom pinstripped. We also geared it at 2:93 to keep the front end on the ground!! We could have gone with a traditionl 3:50 gearing, but that much power with huge meaty tires and a total weight of just 2200 pounds, the off the line power would have been too violent and would have literally brought the front tires off the ground!! To put this in prospective... this car has .20 horse power per pound. So a new Camaro or Mustang that weighs 4000 pounds would have to have 800 horse power to keep up with this Lil Coupe! However, it runs very smooth and cool around town since the gearing is so high. It will cruise on the freeway all day long at 75mph and never get over 1800 rpm!!! Part of this is due to the massive all aluminum radiator and oversized fan. Valve covers and breather are chrome while the air cleaner is finned billit aluminum. Chrome alternator keep the juice flowing. PowerMaster Power Max starter is a race car type with very low gearing designed to turn over such a massive power plant. OTHER- Tires to move all this power are top of the line Hoosier 31 x 18.50 rear. They grip very well and surprisingly do a great job at highway speeds. They are very stable and smooth. Rims are all painted orange to match striping with chrome caps. Stopping is surprisingly easy with Disc brakes up front and drum brakes on the rear. All lines are of course braided stainless steel as are the couplings. The headlights are chrome with hi/low beam function. Uni Steer all chrome rack and pinion steering. All in all this is an amazing car that I HATE to have to sell. But our business is slow so we need to part with it. There is no way you could replicate and build this car for the money Im selling it for!! I see cars on ebay with no where near the customization or power that this rod has for the price I have my reserve set at!
