This 1990 Ford Mustang SSP 'Highway Patrol - Police' P40 LX model has never been used in law enforcement service. It is powered by 5.0 V8 High Output with an automatic transmission. It has the proper SSP Police Package factory options including: relocated trunk release, ground straps, 160 MPH calibrated speedometer, reinforced floor pans. It comes with TWO factory 'buck tags' and a copy of the original window sticker - SEE PHOTOS. These buck tags are important because they prove the authenticity of a real SSP Mustang. Except for brake rotors and spark plugs its just the way it came from the Ford factory in 1990. Instead of a long drawn out story I will give you a brief history. Please ask any and all questions. I have collected, restored and appraised cars for over 35 years and if there is one thing I learned is an unrestored, unmolested, never taken apart factory original car will most always drive and ride better than one that has been disassembled and restored. Remember you can restore a car as many times as you want - but it is only factory original once! This 1990 Mustang black SSP was ordered in 1990 by a Georgia Sheriffs department but NEVER put in official service. It was sold to an East Coast collector in the mid 1990's. That owner put approximately 30,000 miles on this black SSP. While he owned it he did not like the quality of the factory black paint and had it repainted. The paint looks factory and nearly perfect to this day. It was then sold to a Minnesota collector in 1998. The Minnesota owner put another 30,000 miles on the SSP in summer weather with long drives to USA car shows and events. He maintained the car extremely well with proper fluid changes, cleaning and detailing. Each winter when it was put in storage he would drain the coolant, remove the engine hoses, wash them with soap and water and reinstall them in the spring with new coolant. The interior is nearly flawless and never smoked. The seats, dash, headliner, door panels are all factory original and superb condition. The chassis is corrosion and rust free. Check most 'restored' Mustang SSP chassis' and you will see where they have been through ditches and over curbs - not this one. It is straight and true. This SSP still looks, drives and smells like new. This SSP looks and drives like it has 6,300 miles not 63,000 miles.
