Vehicle Detail

1984 BMW 633csi One Owner Original, Low 96,997 miles, not running, Baltic Blue/Tan leather! You could really say that I am the second owner of this car, but I have never titled it from the original owner who was my sister-in-laws grandfather, nor have I ever put it on the road, other than driving it around my neighborhood shortly after receiving it 21 months ago. I had been a member of the BMW Car Club of America for many years and this is my ninth BMW. I always wanted a 6 series and the grandfather stopped driving this one in 2004, and in 2010 he went into a nursing home and the car was offered to me being the bimmer head that I am. The car would not start (would crank but not turn over) when I went to pick it up, so my brother trailered it to my home in PA in July 2010. I had every intention of getting it running great and keeping it for a long time, but I have a few other cars already and have not had the time, need the garage space, and am 'downsizing' in general. This makes this gently owned, low mileage classic available to someone, who I hope, appreciates what fine cars these 6 series are. The VIN listed is correct, I do not know why a vehicle report does not come up. What I Have Done: I replaced the ignition switch, distributor cap, rotor, spark plugs, fuel pressure regulator and fuel filter, it had some old gas in it, but I topped it off with super and added fuel additives. I changed the oil & filter. After these efforts I got it to run a bit and drove it around my neighborhood. It would not start again after my second test drive. I found the "no start shark page" on the internet and began more organized troubleshooting of the electrical system. Jumping a couple of relays, and lastly testing the reference and speed sensors (this was just last week) which I found to be faulty (lacking proper resistance range of 860-1,060 ohms). The Good: Very Original One (Titled) Owner Vehicle, no accidents ever, the grandfather loved this car and gave it everything it needed up until 2004. Only 96,997 miles. Virtually all electrical accessories work except, I think the passenger headrest. I have original bill of sale, title and portion of the window sticker showing the original selling price of $41,870 from Wide World Of Cars in Spring Valley, New York. Original owners manual and books. Original large full color sales brochure from 1984 (not in photos) Very solid with virtually no rust. Exhaust looks pretty new. The Not So Good: Not running, some small scrapes and nicks (please review photos carefully, I attempted to capture everything), 2 seam splits on drivers seat, rear seat has some a major tear, michelin tires have great tread, like new, but showing some dry rot cracks from age, needs a battery, no radio, rust on tools, not sure about the ac, although compressor kicked it when i had it running, the paint is faded from the drivers door to the rear of the car and the roof, I believe this was from a poor wax job, I experimented on the trunk lid and was able to restore a bit of it with polishing compound and wax, you can see this section in the photos, sunroof is slow but works, different key for door and ingnition as I put in a new keyed ingnition switch, emblems faded, 2 small dash cracks, dry window trim on drivers side. Hood shocks need replacement. Rust bubble under passenger side door on frame rail. Summary: A rare original condition, fully loaded 633csi, with a great color combination; Baltic Blue w/Pearl Tan Leather interior and solid as can be, just needs a little work to get running, but once it is, it should provide many years of high quality driving enjoyment. Being Sold at no reserve auction. Please review the photos closely to better understand the condition of this vehicle. I am happy to provide any additional photos/info upon request.
