Vehicle Detail

This 1978 SR5 Corolla was bought new in AZ and been here since. I bought it from a dealer who bought it from an estate. The story is that the original owners bought it and it was the husbands to and from work car. He passed in the early 80s and the car sat on the side of the house because the wife didn't drive stick. The wife passed little over a year ago and everything went into an estate auction. There were several cars that a dealer bought, and this was one of them. He didn't want to mess with it, so he sold it to me. I don't know how true the story is, but the clues tell me it most likely is true. The interior was cooked. Most of the plastic and material was brittle and disintegrated when touched. The pedals have very little wear. The paint is super thin. The engine compartment had a cactus growing up into it. The driver side sun visor was left in the down position and was cooked to a crisp. Here's what's been done: New Dash Cover (did not fix in place because I was going to have it painted to match. New alternator, plugs, wires, oil, oil filter, air filter, hatch prop struts, rear shocks, belts, hoses, radiator flush and new coolant, new clutch master, new tires, diff gear oil, slush box gear oil, rebuilt carb, cleaned gas tank, front seats from a 78 Corolla Wagon, and cactus removed from engine compartment. What is bad: paint, rear seats, small dent in passenger rear quarter, AC needs high compression line (does work and all fan speeds too), all speakers were rotted (radio turns on), missing one center cap, drive line clunk (possible u joint), door panels are cooked, a few door dings. It is a 34 year old car that sat for 30 years so there will be imperfections. I listed the things that bug me and that I wanted to address. A few more details and you have a nice driver. It runs and idles like a dream. The engine is tight. Starts on first turn every time. Goes through the gears without a problem. I am selling because I want to focus on my old Celica. I can hold a few weeks while the buyer arranges shipping/pickup. No warranties implied or expressed. As-Is. Email with questions. Thank you.
