Matching numbers Beautiful Restoration Ready to enjoy Please contact me and I will send you the picture links I refer to in this ad Ebay will not allow me to list links !!! I 'm not an expert but I've had a number of e-types over the past 35 years [series 1,2,3] and this one is by far the nicest and best driving vehicle I've had the pleasure to own. I purchased the car in late September of 2010 and by January 2011 my health had continued to deteriorate . I've been hoping for my health to improve but unfortunately that's not the case therefore ,I've decided to auction this beautiful machine on ebay for someone else to enjoy. History : The previous owner had purchased the car back in 1998 as a restoration project for himself . He always wanted a e-type but wanted the quality of the restoration to be top notch. Ray ownes his own body shop in Pelham NY and stored the car in his shop for a number of years before he started buying parts and researching the work to be done. He started buying parts etc. in early 2006 and started the restoration in 2007 . Ray took his time ,took everything apart , restored what could be restored and purchased many new oem parts mostly from Welsh Jaguar in Steubenville,Ohio. He restored the entire body, replacing floors, sheet metal where necessary ,everything, new gas tank, etc. no BONDO !!! Being in the auto body business for many years,Ray made sure everything fit properly and that the body gaps were perfect. He sent the engine out to A.N.J.AUTO machine shop in New Rochelle NY for a complete rebuild in 1/2008 .Please see this link for pictures of the engine rebuild. photobucket.com/e-type2 The car was painted in September 2008 and the car was road ready shortly thereafter with only minor items to be completed. Ray was a perfectionist and prior to installing a brand new interior , installed DYNAMAT throughout to insulate the cockpit from noise and heat from the transmission and engine which are typical in e-types. He even wrapped the brand new exhaust system with heat shielding material . SEE OTHER LINK for underside photo's photobucket.com/e-type . Ray, totally rebuilt the entire rear suspension unit ,plus he installed new suspension at all four corners. New soft top, restored the soft top frame, everything new and correct . Owning his own successful auto body business ,Ray didn't have much time to enjoy his creation so in September of 2010, I purchased the car from Ray. At the time , A few minor items still needed to be hooked up such as the speedometer, fuel and oil pressure gauge etc. which I figured I've had done myself. I enjoyed driving the car immensely but never got around to having those few items done. I set my reserve lower in consideration of the new owner may eventually want to have them done. Body and Paint: I fell in love with the body and paint on this car. The gaps are perfect, bonnet and door fit is great and the windows and doors open and close as they should. The paint is high quality urethane and clear coat with a very high luster. Everything appears new. One 3 " scratch on the very back of the bonnet which was there when I purchased the car is the only blemish of note on the entire car. Please see the first picture on this link photobucket.com/e-type Chrome : All the chrome on the car is either new or has been redone. It is excellent. The only piece of chrome which is good but not as perfect is the 16" center section of the rear bumper[rear bumper has 5 parts ,2 side, one center,2 overriders] Please see the second picture at this link: photobucket.com/e-type Wire wheels were purchased new and are stainless steel and are tubeless!!!!! No tubes to blow!!!! Perfect condition with Hankook 205/75 radial tires . Engine and transmission: Totally rebuilt suspension and exhaust: All new Interior: All new, seats totally rebuild from frame , new soft top and restored frame, restored original steering wheel ,all new brake lines, calipers ,master clutch cylinder ,brake cylinder etc.etc. Overview: Car drives like new, starts first time everytime, very comfortable interior , 4 peed manual transmission with manual steering. The radio is not original ,I installed a black cover over it that can be pulled off to turn the radio on and off. I've posted 24 pictures on ebay but have included links to over 150 very detailed photo's for your review . photobucket.com/e-type and photobucket.com/e-type2 for engine resto pictures . built 4/1970 engine number 7R11814-9 [on back of engine near flywheel and on data plate near battery under the bonnet body /chassis 1r13457 On Mar-18-12 at 13:29:55 PDT, seller added the following information: I have all the purchase receipts and documrentation of the parts purchased by the previous owner. The carburators were totally rebuilt by Joe Curto in college point new york. For you to view all the extra pictures in the two links I refer to, just add www . and cut and paste to your browser, or just type the information in as an address and you'll get to the photo bucket web site. eBAY no longer allows you to just click on a link to more pictures anymore.
