Vehicle Detail
1969 Ford Galaxie XL GT with 429 and four speed transmission. I bought this rare and unique car a few months ago to restore but due to difficult circumstances, I now need to sell. It is black jade ( dark green ), black vinyl top, black interior with bucket seats and console. It has an aftermarket under-dash air-conditioner that was installed in 1970. The car comes with quite a bit of paperwork, including the warranty cards and Marti report. The car was sold new by Harvest Motors, inc. in Salem, Va. 24153 and spent time in Virginia, Germany, California and southern Indiana before it ended up in Illinois. At one time, this car appears to have had gold C-stripes, probably a dealer-installed item. These C-stripes are available through some restoration supply stores. One of the companies is Stencils and Stripes. The serial #9N60N124089 9-1969, N-built at Norfolk, 60- Ford XL 2 door sportsroof, ( 24,089th Ford scheduled for production at Norfolk ) N- 429 4-V engine 360 horse, 63C- Ford XL 2 door sportsroof, C- Black Jade paint, Ford paint #3197-A, 8A- Black Clarion knit vinyl bucket seats, 04M-scheduled for build; December 4, 1968, 25- Richmond ordering district, R- 3.25 Traction-Lok axle ratio, 5- Four-speed wide-ratio manual transmission. Sold by Harvest Motors, Inc. 24153, order received 11/05/68, built 01/14/69, sold 01/20/69, 1 of 404 with 429- 4 speed, 1 of 2319 with GT equipment group, according to the Marti report. The Martworks "elite" report is scheduled to arrive in February and will be forwarded to the new owner if desired. I've put on a new set of Goodyear tires, new fuel pump, rear springs and rear shocks since I've owned the car. It has a clean Illinois title. The winning bid buys a 1969 Ford Galaxie XL GT sportsroof with 429, factory 4 speed, as-is, where is. No PayPal please. The car needs restored but can be a fun cruiser in the meantime. It needs rear 1/4s, and has a small hole on trunk floor. The casting # on intake is; C85E-9424-B, casting #s on heads are C9VE-A, casting # on block is C9VE-6009 The car will be be held until payment has cleared the bank. The dash is cracked and the fuel gauge doesn't work. This had sold before but the biider had some unfortunate circumstances of his own, so it's being relisted. On Jan-24-12 at 12:07:04 PST, seller added the following information: The hidden headlights do work but they lose vacume when the car is parked and shut off, and then the headlight doors go up. There is quite a bit of paperwork that goes with the car.On Mar-18-12 at 06:59:42 PDT, seller added the following information: The car has a clear IL title, has a copy of the original VA title and a copy of the IN title. It has the warranty card for the original owner and #2 owner, plus the owner / warranty cards for the Mark A/C system plus a letter from the company. It has the original owner's manual with several receipts.
