Vehicle Detail
This is a 1972 Triumph TR6C that I recently got running. When I bought it the motor had been partially torn down because the owner said it was making a funny noise. The funny noise was the wrist pin bushing in the left cylinder completely worn out and the piston was banging around all over the place. I cleaned up the head, put new valve guides and valves in it. I replaced the cylinder with a used .040 over set along with new .040 pistons and rings. I took the crank completely out and replaced the sludge trap (which was completely plugged up). I replaced the oil seals in the cam cover. I took the Amal carburator apart and put a re-build kit in it, and replaced the fuel petcocks and lines. The bike also has a new battery and a new chain. The bike has a Boyer (??? I think that is right) electronic ignition and I set it as close as I could so I could get it started. I have not timed it with a light. I have only ridden this bike around the neighborhood once (about a mile) so I can't say much about the overall ride, etc... There is no rear brake switch, although the wires are there. Also, the intake rocker box has a stud missing on the carb side, the one in the middle. As with any old bike I am sure there are plenty of things that could be replaced or repaired. The speedometer doesn't seem to work, as the needle bounces around quite a bit, and both the speedo and tach rubber cups need replaced. The bike is still dirty, too many other projects going on the do any cleaning. Check out a short video of me starting this bike at http://youtu.be/Sim5vkF8fDc If you buy this and are outside the U.S.A. and wish to pay with PayPal I will charge you an extra five percent due to the fees PayPal charges. Also, I don't do shipping. I will make myself available for pickup or for whoever you send for it should you buy it.
