1978 Super Beetle Convertible Hello and welcome to my auction.If you have questions you can always email or request phone number.This will be the last of these restoration deals I will be offering this year . I have been swamped with orders since gas prices have sky rocketed and this 1978 Volkswagen Super Beetle Convertible was being built for a client who choose an older 71 beetle instead. So I am offering this one time only and I have already done all the hard work and the car has fresh paint only days old as I just got it back from the paint shop last week and I used a poster board showing that days date as well as so national events, so everyone knows the paint is brand new and not a picture from 5 years ago. You can choose the color convertible top , door panels and seat covers,carpet and sun visors. All items are of original quality and look .These are not cheap walmart seatcovers, these are what they originally used . I have also a brand new 1600cc engine and totally rebuilt still in the plastic 4 speed tranmission. Because I am so far ahead with paint and body this car can be quickly completed in no more then 4 weeks. All the windows are in good shape and the brakes work as they should with new brake line and shoes. The steering is very tight and all the lights are working as they should before it went to paint . I have new tires that are stock size in hight on original steel style rims. All of the tails lights,turn signals,running boards,gravel guards and chrome molding will be replaced with new . Lets now remember I am not building a show car and any of you who have unrealistic expectations I can give you a number of a couple other shops that are starting price $25,000.00 but on the flip side this car looks very nice and is the type of the car that you would see at a local car show and you would be very proud of it and drive it and have a classic and all else save on gas. I am adding a buy it now and a very fair starting price and if a offer comes in that I can not refuse I will sell to the high bidder so communication is key.I also have pictured the car for all to see in a unfinished state . I will not take anymore pictures until the car is finished . I had a buyer tell me he was a cash buyer and convienced me to sell to him as stated there would be no problems and he requested any additional pictures I had so I dug up what I could and sent him additional pictures and video of the car prior to paint and over 50 other videos of cars I have restored to different stages . He gave me his word and sent deposit and promised a wire transfer the following morning . The following morning I am greeted with 3 long emails demanding every last inch of the car from top to bottom and me driving it down the road . He stated his partner didn't feel comfortable even with ebays $50,000.00 buyer protection and my verfied account through ebay and paypal and outstanding feedback from Germany , Netherlands and all over the United States and I've even sold to the local Veternarian ,San Jose Deputy and many business owners even here locally. Quite honestly and frankly I was insulted. So from here on out if my feedback is not good enough please don't even bother calling as I have not worked my tail off offering free shipping, delivering cars and even taking one clients car to a shoe photo shoot in Carmel Ca which I will add the pictures and you can always check video of other cars including that one. Nobody on ebay takes the time to video tape and picture their cars and go the extra mile like I do. Next Payment must be sent as soon as possible so I can start working on the car and getting the color combo you requested . Many people do not understand that even one day can throw me off a week or two , for example if I do not get the order in by 4 o clock Friday the order will not process till the following Monday . Also most venders I get most parts from are not open Saturday or Sunday which can cause delays. Convertibles tops are made to order by a Company I do business with quite often here in California and I do not see one dime of the deposit money as it all goes for parts or to secure the sale of the car and parts depending on what the deposit is. Anything under $6,500.00 it is all money up front as I am not chasing down final payment if a car goes that low. It's simply not worth it. Okay with all the ugly stuff said I will bend over backwards and it is not uncommon for me to work late hours and if you change your mind on a color combination or want some add on's I will work with you. I will always call a person back if I miss your call and I do send pictures as work is going along so there is no reason to demand them. I gladly give you a snapshot of your restoration. Also when the car is finished you have the option to send an independant inspector or come in person or I will video and or picture every inch of the car .Once full payment is received I send out clear California title to new owner over nighted with a tracking number that will emailed .
