Although high mileage it seems to run very strong. Just a little slow to get up to speed. ~25-30 MPH before acceleration really picks up. Fuel mileage was 24-29 MPG depending on the type of driving & how it was driven. Seems to have been very well maintained by previous owner(s). Might account for the 'true' mileage. VWs & Mercedes (same instrument manufacturer, VDO) were/are known for speedometer/odometer gears stripping. Obviously, if left unrepaired mileage continues to accumulate without being recorded. So some (many?) "low mileage" VWs/Mercedes aren't. Of particular note: Instrumentation includes tachometer. Vacuum system seems to work fine. Held up for over six months of non-use. Original owner's manual, etc included. See pics. Original Becker radio still installed & working fine. As is the antenna. Original instructional/informational(?) cassete tape for Becker radio included but condition unknown. Original first aid kit also included. 6/16/11 - 356,xxx - Purchased 6/xx/11 - 356,xxx - Began adding 32 Fl Oz of Power Service Diesel Kleen +Cetane Boost to fuel (NOTE: Kleen version used to clean fuel system). 6/xx/11 - 356,xxx - A/C system evacuated, tested & re-filled. Ok then. 6/xx/11 - 356,xxx - Installed Kraco Premium Multi Season Floormats. 6/22/11 - 356,876 - Four new Michelin X P195/70R14 80,000 mile radials. Warranty non-transferable but receipt included. 2/18/12 - 357,139 - Tires aired up to ~35 psi all around. 2/18/12 - 357,139 - Installed Beck/Arnley/Mann 042-1222/C-31-190 Air Filter. 2/19/12 - 357,139 - Installed new Duracell 49 battery. 3 year free replacement & 8 year pro-rated replacement warranty. Warranty non-transferable but receipt included. 2/19/12 - 357,139 - ~8 Fl Oz of Power Service Diesel Fuel Supplement +Cetane Boost (plus anti gel, for colder weather) added to almost full fuel tank. 2/19/12 - 357,146 - Changed just the engine oil using ~7 quarts of Castrol Tection Extra 10W-40 Non-synthetic Motor Oil for re-fill. 3/03/12 - 357,184 - Drained engine oil. 3/03/12 - 357,184 - Installed Purolator L43056 Oil Filter. 3/03/12 - 357,184 - Re-filled engine with ~8 quarts of Rotella T6 Synthetic 5W-40 Motor Oil. 3/03/12 - 357,184 - Installed Beck/Arnley/Mann 043-0978/WK716 Fuel Filter. 3/04/12 - 357,196 - Drained ATF & dropped AT pan. 3/04/12 - 357,196 - Installed Pro-King AT Filter Kit FK-185 & re-installed AT pan. 3/04/12 - 357,196 - Re-filled AT with ~6 quarts of Mobil 1 Full Synthetic ATF. Receipt included. It's been re-painted by a previous owner. Rusting through in certain areas. See pics. Sold as is. The base of the gas pedal rusted through but the vehicle has been driveable without the gas pedal in place just using the round 'bar' that the gas pedal partly mounted to. See pics. Sold as is. A/C was converted to R134A by a previous owner. A/C evacuated, tested & re-filled shortly after purchase in June 2011. It worked well enough then. Not as cold as a R-12 system but adequate. Doesn't blow cold now though. Sold as is. The rear self-leveling system worked when the vehicle was originally purchased in June 2011 but doesn't now. Sold as is. Steering wheel isn't perfectly centered. Rotated ~15 degrees to the right. The vehicle drives fine though. No pulling to the right or left at all. Sold as is. Vehicle being sold as is.On Mar-13-12 at 10:30:22 PDT, seller added the following information: ADDITIONAL INFO: The oil pressure at idle is ~1.75 but once the accelerator pedal is depressed it pegs out at 3 & stays there while driving the vehicle unless the accelerator pedal is released & the rpms drop below ~1500. If the red hazard light rocker switch located in the center of the center console just behind the shifter is accidentally partially or fully activated the blinkers won't blink. Odometer & trip odometer mileage are now 357,231 & 147 respectively.On Mar-17-12 at 10:57:02 PDT, seller added the following information: FINAL EDIT: Concerning the oil pressure. After some online research & a final test drive the high oil pressure may be due to a failed(ing) oil pressure sender or possibly worn o-rings on the oil filter rod (extras are included). It isn't a short because before ignition the oil pressure gauge needle doesn't budge. It's only on ignition that the oil pressure pegs to 3 bar. At idle it returns to ~1.8 bar. Final odometer & trip odometer mileage are now 357,257 & 174 respectively. And the fuel gauge is now registering just over half a tank. Good luck with the final bidding.
