I would describe the condition of this car as "road warrior class" and so I would recommend this vehicle to someone who is mechanically inclined. 73,000 city miles. Car had been in one significant accident and numerous lesser ones, given this has been a family car I can give a very detailed assessment and history. Car belonged to my father (85) . He and I shared it. Driving habits-- my father very slow, myself regular (19 yrs of driving only one moving violation). My mechanic (louie rapid tire Brooklyn) said the heart of the car--engine-transmission is good but the rest of the car has issues. My father is responsible for all the accidents the largest of which pushed in the front passenger side area, the wheel and wheel-well area was seriously damaged, pushed in, hood curled up etc the cost to repair it I said to myself the car should have been junked but the insurance paid to have it repaired--my mechanic said he never liked the job that was done (by the auto body shop) that everything looks bent up underneath nevertheless that accident was when the car was in the 30,000 mileage range and I have been using it up until the present mileage and it runs. A/C doesnt work. Front headlight apparatus I had to install screws to secure it (see photo) but the lights work but really cannot be adjusted (tilt of beam). Another separate accident dent on the drivers side near wheel well (see photo) resulted in a broken strut large dent but not affecting anything underneath and strut was repaired. The rest of the body of the car has enough scratches to make freddy kruger envious and small dents all over it can only be described as disgraceful. Another time passenger side view mirror had been eliminated, I obtained one from the junk yard and though the repair job is pathetic the mirror housing still folds in and out and is secure (see photo). Due to the main accident occasionally a sensor light is visible on the dashboard, the last time I remember some emmissions light had been on, as of now I see no indicator lights on. There is a semi-circular crack in front windshield highlighted by a white piece of paper. The crack must have been a result of the accident though it appeared some time afterward, it has never gotten larger, no water penetrates, its not too visible nor in field of vision when driving and I never have recieved a ticket for it. Battery is from a corolla, though its not meant for this car it fits and works. The car is very loud, just starting it in my yard its almost embarrasing to hear and it sets off car alarms as you drive, its not at the horrific stage but its loud and there needs to be work done underneath--this problem started last year w/ the huge snowstorm, I charged into a parking space and snow/ice must have damaged something underneath. Drivers side window goes up and down but the switch has been acting up a little. One recent problem I notice when pulling out of a space the steering seems a little stiff but then gets better after you drive which I believe is a result of a slow power-steering leak that has to be addressed. After I put fluid in it it felt fine, maybe after two weeks of driving the fluid falls below minimum level. Another recent problem the windshield wiper fluid is not coming out. When pulling the lever inside the car the wipers move as they should but no fluid exits ports nor do I hear the wiper fluid motor that does this. Tires are in regular condition, car had been sitting in our yard for about a year and only one tire looked low on air. Manual has pages missing. Some trim on top of car and bordering drivers side of front windshield is missing. Please assume car will not pass inspection. The title had a lien but there are accompanying notarized bank documents stating its lifted. Despite all these things we actually put the car in the back because we have another car and it was generally becoming too expensive (insurance, gas, inspection,) to operate 2 cars and my idea was at some other time we would use it (for example as a back-up), that is why it has been docked all this time and now we just dont want it and the repairs it needs. Some other things to mention: picture of spare doughnut I do have the cardboard-like flooring that covers it-I forgot to take a photo of it in place. We always changed oil at 3000 miles, I have a receipt from the place we changed our oil, it has many of the changes after 37,000mi, before this we had the changes done at the dealer, on the receipt there might be some gaps which is just us going somewhere else to change oil but the receipt is a good indicator of our consistency in oil changes. Car is sold as is. Under no circumstances will car leave property unless payment is completed: a $500 deposit is required through paypal the rest has to be paid within 7 days. Under no circumstances will car be allowed to leave property unless payment is finalized, furthermore the car has no tags and no inspection, winning payer is responsible for picking up the auto. An appointment can be made to see vehicle here no problem. Despite these problems I always liked driving this car over my mothers corolla and I think for this price you will be happy, the decision to keep it is out of my hands, my father does not drive anymore and my mother does not want the car sitting in the back for another summer and I have other family that live in our home and elsewhere, they have their own cars and dont want it, Im 39 and married and just cant afford to have a car now, they left it up to me to sell because they know I sell things on EBAY
