The exterior as you can see in the pictures is a bit rough the car looks to have had some paint work in the front and it did not hold well through the years the little gti will definitely need a new paint job as it does show wear, fade and blemishes, this car is the perfect little project for someone to prep it real good and send it to macco for a quick bath. Take a good look at the pictures. Interior is in pretty good shape its nice and pretty clean, a tear on the drivers seat and floor pad but that’s just about it overall the interior looks pretty good. 2.0L 4cyl with only 164k these 2 liters are pretty good engines I have had some with as many as 275k and still running like a champ, this engine has very good power and speed no funny noises. The only noticeable thing that I will point out it looks like it will need a new valve cover gasket although the car does not smoke there’s some oil around the cover that’s an inexpensive job on these 2 liters. 5-speed manual Tran’s shifts all gears properly the clutch grabs great with no slips. Power sunroof. All 4 tires are in great shape. Euro style moldings all around. Aftermarket magnaflow exhaust (nice sound) I have driven the car for around 50 miles and no check engine light has come on. A few details that I noticed are the airbag light on (common on these mk3 vw’s) the temp gauge sometimes goes all the way up but comes back to normal (the car is not over heating) the ignition switch needs to be shaken at times for it to start (also very common on these mk3’s) and last but not least the passenger door needs to be lifted a tad bit to close. I have described the car to the best of my knowledge please keep in mind that I am a dealer and I do my best not to leave anything out this little car runs pretty darn good and would be great as a starters car or for someone to commute as they are great on gas if you have any questions please feel free to ask a vehicle inspection is available before placing a bid or winning the auction.
