This sporty 1972 Mercedes 350SL is not just a luxury convertible,it was the true sportscar of the 1970's era.You couldn't drive anywhere in this great classic and not get noticed.It was a true status symbol then,and still 40 years later,one of the favorites amongst collectors and Mercedes lovers.This was the first year for the new body style design change and offered the standard fuel injected cast iron V-8 engine.1972 was the first year that Mercedes offered power windows and factory air conditioning in the SL body style.They were rare options in 1972 and became pretty standard in 1973 and beyond. My beautiful Mercedes is in wonderful condition and has a very nice and desirable color combo.It is a native Californian for the entire 40 years.The exterior color is Argent Silver.The interior is black throughout.Car was always well cared for and has very low miles for its age (51,789 original miles) with books and records.It is a knock out to look at and a pleasure to take out for some highway fun. Option: Very rare options for 1972:factory air conditioning,power windows,power door locks,not a power antenna,power steering,and power assist brake.It also has original color key match wheel covers to the exterior.Original Becker radio.Both tops.Covertible top is brand new and is the correct black canvas material.The hard top is the same color as the body and in great shape. Body and paint: Excellent rust free body.No accidents.Paint is extremely nice and very shiny.No particular dings.No sun stress cracks.Just a pleasure to look at from close up or from a distance. Interior: All original black text interior.No cracking or rips in any of the seats or panels.Beautiful carpets,Nice original sun visors and console fixtures.No unusual odors or fading at all. Mechanical and driveability: Engine in excellent shape.No smoking or leaks.Transmission shifts correctly.Runs and drives very well.Tires are in great shape with alot tread still intact.The car steers and brakes extremely well.Roadworthy is the best way to descibe it. Trim and bumpers: Original chrome bumpers are still very shiny.No peeling or fading.Aluminum trim and rubber components are in excellent shape.No particular wearing at all. This is a very nice original SL that is a great find and will make someone very happy for the upcoming summer nights.It has been a pleasure owning this great little roadster.Good luck with the bidding.
