How would you like it if you could fill up your tank for $17? 2006 Smart Fortwo Pulse CDI turbo-diesel. As opposed to the gas model which is lucky to get 45mpg, this diesel model achieves about 60mpg. Also, this one has a 6 speed transmission as opposed to the 5 speed. Car is originally a Canadian model and along with the sale, a metal face-plate of the speedometer in miles will be sold with the car. Mechanically, there is not an issue with anything on this vehicle. Everything works as it should, however, all prospective buyers are encouraged to perform an inspection of the vehicle prior to buying. I'm fairly knowledgeable of this car, but definitely not a true "motor-head". Body wise, front wheels have lost some of the silver paint due to flaking. In the next week, I will have my local body shop touch these up before the end of the sale. Side mirrors are also slightly faded. I live just minutes from Columbus International Airport (CMH) and can provide free transportation from the airport. This car is for sale locally so please bid as early as possible. To clarify, I purchased this car in Michigan, not Canada. I have never purchased a car from Canada and do not know all the requirements to bring one in. 2. This car does have air conditioning. It worked well last Fall and recently turned it on and the compressor did kick on as it should however given the outside ambient temperature today of 30 degrees, I'll wait for a warmer day to run it. Insurance is very reasonable and isn't all that much higher then my Volvo ( I use Progressive despite the annoying commercials). After speaking with a few potential bidders, it has come to my conclusion that different states may treat "grey market" cars a bit different. Therefore, please check with your title office to find out exactly what is required. And again to make it clear, I did not purchase this vehicle in Canada, but in Michigan. It's a Manumatic. Not exactly a full manual transmission because it does not have a clutch. I found a good description of the transmission on Wikipedia and it reads as follows: " Manumatic refers to an automatic transmission that allows convenient driver control of gear selection. This type of transmission was introduced in the 1990s. For most of automotive history, automatic transmissions already allowed some control of gear selection using the console or column shifter. Manumatics enhanced this feature by providing either steering wheel mounted paddle shifters or a modified shift lever for more convenient operation. Different car manufacturers have been using a variety of labels for their manumatic transmissions, such as 'Tiptronic', 'Geartronic', 'Touchshift', 'Sporttronic', 'clutchless-manual' and others."
