BACKGROUND: This 1963 Thunderbird Landau has undergone an extensive and costly restoration over the last several years. It is owned by a good friend of mine who is the former president of the Atlanta chapter of the Vintage Thunderbird Club International. It has an exceptionally beautiful color combination, set off by a crisp white Landau roof in the correct long grain pattern that was unique to Thunderbird. The interior is especially breathtaking...suddenly, it's 1963 again! Very nicely detailed throughout, it's about as close to going back in time as you can get. Note the impressively restored steering wheel, also unique to the Landau. Among the many investments made in this car are: Rebuilt engine & transmission, new U-joints, driveshaft refinishing, new brake cylinders & master cylinder, new paint, new Sanden A/C compressor and R-134 refrigerant, new AM/FM/Cassette radio (original AM radio will be provided to the new owner if he/she would like to have it), and new exhaust system. Currently, the power steering is being rebuilt as necessary for quiet operation - we expect this to be finished in time for the new buyer, but if it is not, a reasonable allowance will be made. The windshield wipers are also being re-installed.. Everything I tested worked - including the A/C and all four power windows. There is no doubt that you will be the "hit" of any cruise night in this fabulous Thunderbird. As most TBird enthusiasts know, these cars were built in the Wixom Lincoln plant. From an engineering and build-quality standpoint...this car is the equal of a 1963 Lincoln. This is saying alot, because many automotive authorities back in 1963 considered Lincoln to be the finest volume-produced luxury car in the world. The body is solid everywhere, and I saw no evidence of any corrosion. The car is impressively finished throughout. The engine compartment is absolutely outstanding - as the pictures at right will show. The only cosmetic flaw of any real consequence that I saw, was in the paint along the roof pillar - which is shown in the last image. There is just a little lifting of some paint. It's minor, but we wanted to mention it. If the new owner would like to have it remedied before taking possession of the car, we can arrange it. INTERNATIONAL BUYERS...are welcome.
