Vehicle Detail

I spent months on a boat and by luck found this little truck not far from where I live in Missouri..According to the previous owner, this beauty has the original 4 cylinder 134 engine and original 3 speed manual tranny and gear drive.. The only thing left to do is finish a little interior work...This little truck runs and drives smooth and cranks up every time.. Update...I got in off the boat and fired the little truck up about once a day for the first 3 days I was in...Didn't have time to drive it because my wife's mother took a turn for the worse and we spent everyday at the hospital until she passed on January 30th..I noticed that it was wet under the single bbl carter carb so I replaced the gasket and didn't do it right because now the carb runs over with gas so the carb or gasket or both need replacing..I also did some homwork because I noticed the distributor did not have a vacuum advance and even though the little truck ran just fine (up until the carb started messing up) I still feel like the ignition should be replaced with either an electronic one or at least one with a vacuum advance.. I'm telling all this because I want everyone to know that this little truck cranked up and idled just fine...I never got the opportunity to drive it around but I was very impressed with the truck when I got home from offshore and saw and heard it first hand..I'm selling it for half of what I paid for two reasons..Mostly to help buy a headstone for my wife's mother and second because a carb at Kaiser Willys cost about $300.00 and an ignition around $150.00 bucks.. I feel confident the winner of this auction will be happy with this little truck. 500.00 non refundable deposit within 24 hours and full payment within 7 days, payment cashier check or money order. Buyer responsible for shipping. On Mar-03-12 at 21:08:30 PST, seller added the following information: MODEL 473 1951 Willys 4X4 Pickup with F4-134 Hurricane Engine and Borg Warner T-90 3 Speed Manual Transmission.. Update Mar 03 2012: I've had some guys ask me some very legitimate questions, how much rust?, any bondo?, how well does it drive?,how well does it shift? and on and on..I DON'T WANT TO MISLEAD ANYONE..THIS TRUCK IS BEING SOLD "AS IS"..It's 61 years old and I'm sure there are bushings to be changed, rust to be found, squeaking to be gotten rid of, clutch may need replacing (eventually..lol),brakes to be changed (eventually)..what I'm trying to say is like I've already tried to explain..I'm NOT selling the truck because I paid $10,000.00 for it and got home from offshore and thought I'd been taken, I'm only selling it because of a recent death in the family..I bought it local (within Missouri) had the owner deliver it (while I was on the boat) and he cranked it up,drove it off his trailer, pulled it up in my garage, and there's were it sit,(for about 3 months) until I got home..My wife and son started it up everyday..NO they didn't drive it because (my wife goes by the book..god bless her..lol) because it wasn't legal..No seat belts,No tags, No inspection sticker..lol.... When I finally got in off the boat, I cranked it up every day for about 3 days..but noticed the base if the carb was wet and took the carb off, replaced it with a gasket that O'Reilly's had laying around (said it was a thermostat gasket) that had the exact bolt pattern, put it on, the turned on the electric pump and gas just kept pouring out of the top of the carb and that's as far as I got..My wife's mother ended up in ICU then passed away so I had to put the truck on the back burner.. I can tell everyone this...the truck is solid, even after investing ten grand up front, I knew if something did happen to turn out wrong with the motor or tranny, everything was here and operational so it couldn't be too bad..and as cheap as parts are for these trucks..I knew I had a solid foundation..The previous owner swore he drove the little truck all over town and even drove it to some local car shows for kicks..Top speed on these trucks is about 45 mph so you don't want to take a long road trip..lol..The previous owner swore by this truck and I had no reason to doubt him..but like any transaction, there's always the possibility that I was mislead but truthfully, I didn't see it and still don't. You're buying a 1951 Willlys 4X4 Truck with everything here and working (except it needs a carb..lol) so for less than $10,000.00 you have a solid classic truck..That's all I know...once again..I don't feel that whomever wins this auction will be disappointed.. P.S. I'm on watch twice a day from 11-5 each day and 11-5 each night (central time) so please if you have any more questions, I'll try to answer them as sincerely as possible..call me at 816-344-3440..that's my cell number. Regards, Ray
