Vehicle Detail
This is a two wheel drive 1999 Ford F250 Superduty with the heavily praised International 7.3 liter turbo diesel engine, and a solid 6 speed manual transmission. This truck is reliable and a power house that gets about 20+ mpg on the highway. This is a great truck! Save money with the installed Waste Vegetable Oil system by Plant Drive Inc. This kit allows you to run the truck on either diesel or 100% vegetable oil and has a switch inside the cab to switch between the two as needed. The kit has a second DOT certified 30 gallon fuel tank in the bed of the truck that is for the vegetable oil only and the stock tank is for diesel only. You start the truck on diesel and switch to vegetable oil when the truck warms up and then switch back to diesel when you will be shutting down for longer than an hour. If you wish to run on diesel only you can do so for as long as you wish. There are gauges for the vegetable fuel system temperature and a fuel gauge for the vegetable tank. I get my used vegetable oil from a local restaurant for FREE. I have driven over 30,000 miles with the truck converted and have not had one problem. Using Waste Vegetable Oil is clean, renewable and domestic, and not to mention a huge money saver. One tank of vegetable oil will get between 500 and 600 miles. Fuel tank included the kit cost nearly $2,000. Check out there website. The truck also has rear air bag suspension that can be raised or lowered to accommodate any sag from hauling or towing any heavy loads. Which this truck can handle easily. This is my daily driver as well as our family's travel vehicle. It is very reliable and I would feel comfortable taking it just about anywhere. This truck has made many trips from Charleston to Alabama, Florida, and North Carolina. The truck has just over 235,000 miles with many miles left. When I first got the truck I put in a new heater core for the hot air in the cab. I just recently installed new rear brake rotors. A new fuse box was recently put in as well. Everything is operational on this truck. The A/C blows cold air and the heater works well too. It has a working AM/FM factory radio and did not come with cruise control. The tires are BFG All Terrains and vary in tread life from 30% to 40%. The truck does have some cosmetic damage on the bottom of the passenger door. This damage is purely cosmetic and does not in any way hinder the operation or drive ability of the truck. The door seals still work and are water tight. This damage was done by the previous owner and never bothered me enough to spend the money to fix it. There is a crack in dash. This is a great truck and I would like to see it go to a good home. The ONLY reason I am selling the truck is to make room for a new member of the family as this truck does not have a back seat.
