Vehicle Detail
Here is a 1997 Ford F-350 XLT Automatic with 116,801 Actual miles. It is the 4x4 and it has the Crew Cab with the longbed and the legendary 7.3 liter Turbo Diesel. This truck spent its entire life in the DRY state of Texas and is beyond clean! It has NEVER been in snow or salt, so it has ZERO rust. The original owner had it ten years unti his buddy bought it from him. Both men were retired gentlemen who knew how to take care of vehicles. The first owner had a gooseneck installed which was rarely used to pull a two-horse trailer for recreational use. The second owner bought it and installed a Lance Lite camper on it. It has never been beat, raced, wrecked, or worked. It has never pulled heavy loads and it is completely factory, without the junk "hop-ups" which ruin vehicles. It was stored inside since day one, even when it had the camper on it. I recently bought the truck from the second owner because I wanted the camper and he would not seperate the package. I flew into Texas, picked up the truck and drove it to California, obviously, without one tiny problem. The factory automatic transmission lasted to 105,827 miles. It was then replaced with a bullet-proof transmission to the tune of $3,332.12, so yes, there are only 10K on the new transmission. This truck starts like new, runs like new, and drives like new. There are no stupid and annoying squeaks, rattles, shimmies or unwanted noises. It has the drive train of a tank with the Dana's. It has the 3:55 gear-ratio, so you don't have to drive 60 mph down the road. This truck will actually cruise. I listed pictures of the only damage which is the drive-side rear quarter where the previous owner caught a plastic gas station pylon. Also, the plastic covering over the window controls, on the driver's side door, is broken but the controls work fine. A replacement will be included in the action. Other than that, the pictures tell the story. This rig is CLEAN, CLEAN, CLEAN. The paint shines like new as does the chrome. It is even spotless under the hood for a diesel truck! Of course this is not a brand spanking new truck and it has a few normal but minor dings. $50,000 buys a perfect new Ford that isn't half the truck as this international built 7.3. This is the last real truck Ford made. The truck is located in San Diego, California and will be when auction ends. You can drive it ANYWHERE with utmost confidence. If you want any specific pictures, just ask and I will email them to you . I will also help with the arrangement of shipping. I can get the truck to a shipping terminal of your choice. Please ask any and all questions before bidding.. As always, this is an as-is sale. NO RESERVE!!! Thank you...On Feb-27-12 at 14:35:46 PST, seller added the following information: Answers to questions.... Of course the truck was serviced regularly. The first owner swore by Delo oil so the second owner continued to use Delo. I had it serviced with Delo before I left TX for CA.... The new E40D Transmission is now bullet-proof and will last as long as the 7.3 Motor. The guy at the shop that did the transmission is a very reputable guy that has done tons of these E40D transmissions. I personally talked to him and he said no corners were cut and this transmission was done right. Feel free to call him. I have the paperwork for $3,332.12 that was paid.. There is a "REAL" transmission gauge in the truck that gives you the exact temp from inside the trans.. The is a couple thousand miles left on the warranty I did list pictures of the damage but it's hard to see because it's not that major. But yes, there is definitely damage to the driver side rear quarter. It would need fender rolling or whatever body work they do if you wanted it perfect. It's nothing a guy couldn't live with unless he wanted a show truck! You can see the broken control panel on the driver door in one of the pics as well. I am including a new panel cover in the auction.. It just seems to be the little plastic cover.. Yes the trim on the exterior of the truck is all the same and is from the factory.. There might be a little discoloration or something but the trim is not black on one side like someone asked. The whole truck is factory. Yes the drivetrain has the Dana front and rear axles. And yes it is the 3.55 Ratio with the limited slip. Yes I have the factory window sticker and the factory price was $35,250.00 after discounts. Yes it still has all the brackets from when the Lance Lite camper was installed. It also has the Factory Camper Package... Yes it has Dual Fuel tanks. Yes it has the 40/20/40 front bench seat with the middle fold down console. It could probably use tires because they are mis-matched. Of course they are all the same size but it has BF Goodrich AT's on the front and it had heavy load Discovery's on the back. There was a nail in one of the rear tires so I just threw on a used one a week ago. I was going to put brand new tires on it but everyone has their favorite brand so I'll leave that up to the new owner.. These on it now will 100% get you where you need to go. Yes it is the XLT Lariat Edition so it has A/C, Cruise, and power everything.. I've had TONS of emails asking for a Buy it Now.. I want to be fair since this is an auction but feel free to give me an offer.. Someone is going to get one of the last good LOW mileaged old school bodied Fords for a ridiculous price... Thanks again and I will answer any and all questions as they come in......On Mar-01-12 at 21:19:07 PST, seller added the following information: Adding a few things.. The reason the battery light is on in the picture of the odometer is because I just turned the key to take the pic.. The truck is not running in the picture. Nothing wrong with the charging system. I bought this truck a measly 4 months ago. After driving it home I liked it so much I put it in storage with the anticipation of keeping it. I haven't put but 10 miles on it since I got it back to California.. I can't justify paying the storage fees and letting it sit anymore is the ONLY reason I'm passing it on.. I have too many vehicles and I have others I can use for hauling.. Hell no I'm not selling it because there is something I don't like about... To my knowledge THERE IS NOTHING WRONG MECHANICALLY WITH THIS TRUCK..... Come see it!! You will not be disappointed.... ThanksOn Mar-03-12 at 08:37:07 PST, seller added the following information: I drove the truck yesterday and a couple of times the radio seem to work intermittently.. Seemed to be working fine after awhile.. You can buy a new radio for anywhere from $30 on up.. If this bothers you and is a deal breaker feel free to cancel your bid..... Thanks
