Vehicle Detail
I have for sale my 1993 Dodge W250, 4x4, it has 90,847 origional miles on it, I am the second owner, the origional owner was a long haul truck driver and knows a thing or two about diesels and cummins, this truck was his baby and he took great care of it changing the oil every 4000 miles and he kept up with all the PM work and logged it in the owners manual. I was an aircraft mechanic and have continued all the Pm work and logged it in a logbook. This truck needs nothing, It was going to be the last vehicle i was going to own so i have gone thru all the brake system and rebuilt the calipers and wheel cylinders and flushed the system, repacked all bearings, Tires are new BFG commercial TA all season LT265/75R16, transmission-ft diff-rear diff-xfer case- have new synthetic oil in them, radiator flushed, new hoses/ belts fairly recently, new battery, hourmeter, pyrometer, bed mat and 2 year old toolbox which also has an integrated fuel tank in it which holds 91 gallons of fuel and it is plumbed into the filler neck for on the go refills, 30 gal factory tank, 2 year old factory exhaust system from front to back, still has factory charge of R12 in the AC which blows very cold. , has 5 speed tranny, aluminum bed rails, everything is factory and has not been tampered with or turned up or anything. Origional owner had a 5th wheel in the bed for a short time towards the end of his ownership, he tried to pull a camper with it in the mountains of Utah where he was from but the truck is not geared for that so he bought a new one ton for his needs and sold the truck to me,the gear ratios in the differentials is 3:50 to 1 and it gets decent milage for a 3/4 ton truck. The front end is the optional one ton dana 60 unit with locking hubs. The best ive got on the hwy at 55 is 22 mpg. I have only pulled with it a total of 900 miles during our recent move and since it was thru the appalacians i installed a pyrometer to be sure nothing got overheated, the load was not much and it came nowhere near getting hot. all in all i dont think you will find a 1993 cummins that has been this pampered and underworked as this one. i treated the frame with ospho and painted it flat black because it is 19 years old and i wanted it to be protected. Truck has been repainted by origional owner and the rocker panels have been repaired it looks like, I replaced the windshield because the factory windshield had a 5 inch blue tint across the top which was very hard to see thru as i am 6 ft 2 and i was allways having to duck down to see past the strip so i put in a new allclear windshield last year. This truck has lived all its life in Utah and North carolina and only had minor rust underneath which i treated with rust killer. Truck has never been used offroad and all drivetrain is like new and has no slack or slop in anything. This truck needs nothing mechanically.. all work has been logged. Truck starts and drives like a new one. seats are like new, floor pans excellent, everything works, cruise control,ac,heater, radio,..ect ect... as i said this was my pride and joy and i was to keep it till it got a million miles or i croaked, but 6 weeks ago i got knocked off a ladder and fractured my left wrist and shattered my right elbow which required plates and screws and now im thinking i need something closer to the ground with an automatic transmission. this truck has a scruffy looking camper on it which keeps everything dry, but come summer i was going to take it off because it really looks dated and scruffy. I will put one older picture of the truck without the camper on it but dont pay attention to the tires in that photo because the new tires presently on it are new street tread. if ive missed something please email me and i will answer in short order. thanks additional things i forgot: These old dodges are notorious for water leaking inside the cab, i had a leak from somewhere and had a hard time finding it, in the process of elimination i used silicone caulking from a tube and sealed shut the small vent windows on each side thinking it was coming in there, that didnt fix it so i ended up changing both door seals and that solved the problem, but i left both vent windows sealed shut, you can remove the sealant if you wish but i left it as is because i felt it made it more theft proof and i didnt use them anyway. there is some paint flaking off inside the bed area, tailgate and wheelwell area inside the bed not visible on the outside. The floors inside the truck are factory rubber with insulation underneath NOT carpet. The ceiling liner fabric is starting to sag a bit in each rear corner an area about 8in x 6in in the very corner, hard to see because its a dark grey and kind of dark in there. There is a 10,000lb uhaul hitch bolted to the frame and it is wired with a electric trailer brake unit. This is a very nice looking truck and in very good shape but it is not a show truck and it is 19 years old.. it is current with all maintenance but it has not been restored to look like a new one. it is allmost impossible to find one that is not modified or ragged out, this one is not modified or used up, i am 53 yrs old and have driven it very gently and the previous owner was older than i and was gentle with it also. there is 70 gals of fuel on board (about 260 dollars worth :) thanks for looking.
