Vehicle Detail

Up for sale is my 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air 2 door hardtop. This car was built in the Atlanta, Georgia plant my wife’s grandfather worked in, so when she saw it we had to buy it. I planned on restoring it for her, but due to time and space I’ve realized that isn’t going to work out for us. This car is the epitome of a true Southern car and though the car may have traveled many untold miles, it’s never lived far from it’s home plant. Years later, though the GM plant has long since fallen quiet, this car is still in an un-restored and original time capsule of a wonderful era where quality and American pride were part of the building blocks of society. This is a NO RESERVE AUCTION, THIS ONE IS GONNA SELL TO THE HIGHEST BIDDER!!! GOTTA MAKE ROOM IN MY SHOP SO BID TO WIN! For more pictures of the car please check out my photobucket link below: http://s621.photobucket.com/albums/tt297/jtmkustoms/1957%20Chevrolet%20Bel%20Air%20%203/?albumview=slideshow Body: The body on this all original 57 is overall very solid. It has not undergone any amateur body repair and does not have any replacement or repair panels installed. The car does have a few areas where it will need some repairs which are common for any vehicle of this age, but is a good solid starting point for your restoration. The hood is in excellent condition and is very solid. The trunk lid is very solid on the exterior, but has a small rust spot on the interior driver’s side that should be a pretty minor repair. The doors are solid and need minimum rust repair. The trunk weather strip lip, the inner and outer wheel wells, inner fenders, cowl, firewall, A-pillars, roof and area around the front glass are all very solid. The back glass surround has a small area of rust in the lower driver’s side near the rubber but is solid around the rest of the window. The car will need patch panels in the floor, trunk, inner and outer rockers but should be pretty standard with any restoration project of this era. The tow boards and the transmission tunnel are in good condition. Someone in the past has modified the transmission tunnel for a 4-speed shifter, but this could be easily repaired. The passenger side fender needs a patch panel in the lower area but it is solid in the upper including around the eyebrow area. The driver’s side fender on this car is repairable but I do have a better driver’s side fender which is included with this auction. There is some through rust in the trunk tail panel, but the auction includes a solid replacement panel. The quarters are solid in the car needing only some minor repair. The entire body has been sprayed with a high-quality urethane primer to preserve the body until restoration can begin. Exterior Trim: All of the original exterior restorable chrome is included with this car. You won’t have to worry with trying to hunt down headlight buckets, rockets and other hard to find trim pieces to finish out this car. The front and rear bumpers are in original restorable condition. Glass: All of the original glass is present in the car. The front and back glass are driver quality with a small amount of de-lamination around the edges. The side glass is present but is going to need to be replaced. All of the window regulators are present. Frame: The frame is solid and straight, with no accident damage, through rust, or modification. All of the original suspension components are present and have not been modified or cut. Interior: The original interior is going to put you ahead of the game on your restoration. An original set of front and rear seats are present and included. All of the original, hard to find, window trim is present. The original headliner is still in place. The dashboard is all original and has not been modified or cut. The original gauges and radio are in the dash. The original hardtop rear side panels are still in the car, and a set of original door panels are included with the attached trim chrome, the door panels will be a good template for reupholstering. Drive Trane: The car does not have a motor and transmission and I believe that originally this car was a factory V8 with and automatic transmission. At some point the car was converted from an automatic transmission to a 4-speed car and now has a clutch pedal installed. The car still retains it’s original wiring harness. ****WHEELS AND TIRES PICTURED ARE NOT INCLUDED IN THIS AUCTION!!! CAR WILL COME WITH A SET OF ROLLERS FOR TRANSPORT**** GOOD LUCK BIDDING AND THANKS FOR TAKING A LOOK!!! I KNOW HOW HARD IT CAN BE BUYING A CAR SIGHT UNSEEEN. I HAVE GONE TO GREAT LENGHTS TO TAKE AS MANY PICTURES AS POSSIBLE TO TRY TO SHOW THE VEHICLE'S TRUE CONDITION, PLEASE TAKE A LOOK AT ALL THE PICTURES AT THE PHOTOBUCKET LINK. I AM AN HONEST SELLER WITH 100% FEEDBACK AND TAKE THIS AUCTION SERIOUSLY. IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS FEEL FREE AND DON'T HESITATE TO MESSAGE ME OR CALL ME AT 678-758-1557. THANKS! JT TITLE: Georgia is a non-title state for vehicles older than 1986 & didn't even start issuing titles for new cars at all until 1961. Therefore this 1957 Bel Air is exempt from title here & has no title. However, if you live in a state which requires a vehicle of this year to be titled, I WILL PROVIDE YOU WITH THE PAPERWORK YOU NEED TO GET YOUR TITLE QUICKLY & EASILY. This means the winning bidder will get a T-7 bill of sale, a state VIN inspection certificate & an official letter from the state of GA confirming that this vehicle is exempt from title in this state. This paperwork will allow you to register the vehicle if you live in a non-title state such as Georgia. This paperwork will also automatically transfer into an actual title if you live in a state which requires a title on a vehicle of this year. I know some of you may be thinking that your tag office is hard to deal with & they just will not issue you a title if you don't have a title from the seller. I understand your hesitation but please believe me when I tell you... they have absolutely no choice but to issue you a title on this vehicle. Every County in every State is governed by the rules of the United States Department Of Transportation. The law says that if a vehicle is brought from a non-title state into a title requiring state & there is valid paperwork from the non-title state... the title requiring state MUST issue a clean, clear, title for that vehicle in the new state. It's the law & no matter how hard to deal with your tag office may be, they WILL issue you a title. There are several states which don't require titles on older vehicles. If there wasn't a unified law to cover these vehicles nationwide, people who moved from a non-title state to a new state may very well find that their very valuable classic automobiles couldn't be tagged in the their new home state, that is not the case. No one has had any trouble obtaining their title with the information I provide. You won't either. It is as easy as a regular transfer of ownership. BIDDING: Please only bid what you are prepared to pay for this vehicle. Anyone wishing to inspect this car or have the car inspected is welcome to do so, but inspections must be completed prior to bidding and prior to the auction’s end. If you have little or no feedback please do not bid without first sending me your contact information through ASK SELLER A QUESTION link in this listing or give me a call so that we can speak on the phone prior to you placing your bid. Full payment or payment arrangements must be made within 3 days of auction close. All members with genuine interest in this car are more than welcome to ask questions. All will be answered promptly. If you look at my feedback you will see that all buyers and sellers have been very happy dealing with me. ADDITIONAL TERMS: I have lost a lot of time and money due to non-paying bidders and this will not be tolerated. This is not a game. I am an honest seller and wish to deal with honest buyers only, NO SCAMMERS OF ANY SORT WILL BE TOLERATED. It is your job to satisfy yourself to the best of your abilities as to the validity and the correctness of this ad, which may include hiring a non-affiliated third party to inspect this vehicle if you so desire prior to bidding. PLEASE CALL ME TO SET UP AN INSPECTION TIME DURING THE COURSE OF THE AUCTION, I WELCOME AND HIGHLY RECOMMEND INSPECTION OF THIS CAR.
