Vehicle Detail
Up For sale is a 1982 Ford Econoline Van with a high top. I am the second owner of this van and have owned it since 1987. It is my baby. I will attempt to describe the good and the bad details about this vehicle and be as honest as I can be. First the Good: 1. It has 78,700 original miles. This is not my daily ride and only used it for camping and special occasions. 2. The body work has been recently done (within the last two (2) year). No bondo or plastic fillers. All rust was cut out and replaced with metal. 3. The Ford 6-300 engine runs great. 4. The tires are about 85% 5. It's an antique !!! 6. It has been inspected in New Hampshire and is currently registered. (In other words..Its currently road worthy) 7. The transmission shifts smoothly 8. Brakes, brake lines and brake cylinders have all been replaced within the last three (3) years 9. About every three or four years I coat the undercarriage with oil. This helps preserve the frame and its components. Now the Bad: 1. The windshield has a crack. This happened recently with our October 2011 snow storm. I do not know what happened, it just developed a crack (see pics) 2. The emergency brake cable needs to be either replaced or lubricated. It tends to hang up when the emergency brake is released 3. There is a small dent in the rear passenger side of van (see pics). I backed my wife's car into it in our driveway (my bad). 4. The gas gauge does not work. The switch will transfer between the two gas tanks, but the gauge does not register on either tank. (maybe a bad ground wire) 5. The rear gas tank leaks gas if you top off the tank. If you don't top it off it's fine, however I would recommend replacing the rear gas tank or just don't use it.
