Vehicle Detail

1999 Chevrolet C3500 Tow Truck/Wrecker w/ Wheel Lift. 350 V8 Manual Transmission (5 Sp.). 126,474 Original Miles. Century Model 411 Wrecker Body. Body: The body is pretty good considering it has spent it's whole life in Ohio. All sheet metal is original. Both cab corners are rusted. The lower lips of the doors are starting to rust. There's one spot on the lip of the hood about the size of a quarter. Overall the body is pretty decent shape. When cleaned up the truck still looks good. The bed was completely sand blasted and painted in March 2008. After it was painted, the top of the wrecker body was sprayed with color matched Rhino Lining. There is a few spots starting to rust again on the bed. No big spots, though. Interior: The interior is gray in color. It has a cloth bench seat. The driver's side of the seat has a tear in it from sliding in and out over the years. It has a rubber floor mat. It has manual windows and locks. It does have working A/C. Everything works. Wrecker Body: It's a Century Model 411. Like I said earlier in the ad, the bed was blasted and painted in 2008. It does have a few spots starting to show rust again. The wheel lift and boom work fine. All hydraulics work as they should. The winch is a 8,000 LB. winch. It is a single line. It also has a sling. The light bar works as it should. The P.T.O. engages and disengages just fine, and works well. It has a tool box on the driver's side. The bed has LED Lighting, except for the light bar. Mechanical: The engine was replaced in December 2010. I installed a Jasper long block when the truck had 119,975 miles. So, that means the engine has 6500 miles on it currently. When the engine was replaced I replaced several other parts as well. Here's a list of those parts: clutch Kit, radiator, radiator hoses, ignition parts (spark plugs, cap & rotor, ignition wires), distributor, oil cooler lines, fuel injection spider, upper intake plenum, water pump, alternator, starter, cluch slave cylinder, clutch master cylinder, serpentine belt, exhaust Y-pipe w/ convertor, rear convertor, and many sensors. Also before I transfered the intake manifold to the new engine, I had the intake cleaned and the intake runners surfaced so they were true & flat. That was a problem area on these engines as far as coolant leaks. In April 2011, I installed 6 new tires. At that time I completely went through the front and rear brakes. Those brake parts included: front rotors, pads, calipers, caliper hoses, bearings, and seals. The rear brake parts included: wheel cylinders, shoes, all hardware including adjusters, drums, bearings, seals, and all emergency brake cables. The truck runs and drives good. I planned on keeping this truck for a long time after doing all this work to it. I've just had a change of plans now so therefore I'm going to sell it. The truck is being used daily and is for sale locally, therefore I reserve the right to end the auction early. I've owned the truck for 5 years. I'm the second owner. I knew the original owner and use to work for him. I remember the day he bought this truck new and I was driving it then as well. If anybody has any questions or wants more pictures, feel free to let me know. Thanks and good luck! On Feb-21-12 at 15:50:30 PST, seller added the following information: After receiving some questions about the rust issues-I wanted to clarify a few things. I was incorrect in my original listing about the cab corners. The driver's side cab corner is not rusted out, it is solid. For whatever reason I was thinking it was rusted. I was wrong. The passenger side cab corner is rusted. The outer portion of the cab corner is partially rusted away. The inner portion, which would actually be part of the cab, appears to be solid and not rusted out. The passenger side floor pan is rust free and solid. The driver's side is solid except for one spot that is a tiny bit bigger than a golf ball. I pushed on the rust spot with my finger and it was a little "spongey". The rest of the driver's side floor pan is rust free and solid. The cab mounts are in excellent shape, virtually rust free. I just wanted to clarify that so everyone was aware.
