This is a British Motor Heritage verified Factory Cooper S, with a numbers-matching 1275cc engine! Super-cool classic car that will hold it's own in any collection, car show or rally. This is a 1967 MK I Austin Cooper S and features the CORRECT equipment for a MK I; sliding windows, smaller tail lights, three gauge center dash cluster, floor shift with metal surround, thumb screw releases on the front grill, two tanks, to name a few. Later 67's were MK II's which can be identified by their roll down windows and larger tail lights. The chassis and engine numbers on this car have been verified as matching by British Motor Heritage Archive. Emails to this effect can be produced upon receipt of a genuine offer. I have ordered the corresponding Heritage Certificate, which takes approximately two weeks. This will be forwarded to the buyer, should the car sell before it arrives. Please don't email me and tell me that this isn't a 67 S, "because it doesn't have roll down windows". You just have to Google search "1967 Austin Cooper S MKI (or MK1)" and you can find several examples of 67 MK I's which have the same features as this car. Condition The exterior is excellent, with very good paint, just a couple of small chips and one tiny area of what appear to be two very small rust "bubbles" under the paint, on the rear tailgate, near the bottom, next to the hinge (see pic below with yellow circle). The interior is exceptional; the seats, headliner, dashboard, rear shelf, etc, all in flawless condition. Pay close attention to the material used as the secondary tone, it's gray with gold detail. Mechanically, the car is also excellent. Starts right up, all the lights work, it handles like you'd expect and the brakes are well maintained. The video below was shot the same day as the pics. I put almost 20 miles on it that day and it was WONDERFUL to drive. The roads here in Western North Carolina are twisty with plenty of elevation changes; perfect for something as nimble and quick as this little beauty! The new owner will get a file full of photos, receipts and other documents, detailing several decades of history. There's also a reproduction owner's manual and parts catalog.
