Ben and I share a tragic kinship in that we lost our spouses to cancer three months apart in 2000. I have a 2001 Corvette convertible that has also gone to events supporting the American Cancer Society. Out of respect to Ben and his late wife Sandy, I rebadged the car from Corvettes Conquer Cancer to Corvettes for the Cure. We felt that Corvettes Conquer Cancer was something that should remain exclusively with them. The name change notwithstanding, it has remained true to its mission. We are unable to continue a two-car mission which is why we are selling this car. Our Lady L will continue the cause. This car runs beautifully and everything works. A new transmission was installed by General Motors at the Powertrain Engineering Center in Ypsilanti, Michigan about 54K miles ago Water pump, starter and rear wheel bearings have all been replaced during its lifetime.
