*NO RESERVE* 1973 Mustang Mach 1 (fastback) Registration is up to date and as a pre-1976 model, the car is exempt from California SMOG emissions requirements. Please note: CAR IS FOR SALE LOCALLY. I reserve the right to end auction early in event of sale. Engine: Original V8 351 CLEVELAND- runs excellent Note: engine was detailed several years ago by Cherokee Martin - one of the mechanics for Dick Guldstrand Racing Ram air hood - has the ram air plenum attached but not currently connected to the air filter Dual Flowmaster exhaust - purrs just enough to sound strong but not so loud that it's obnoxious Rebuilt transmission - runs excellent Wheels - Magnum 500s - the classic period correct wheel for this car - small amounts of surface rust from outdoor parking is not visible in photos. Tires - BF Goodrich Radial TAs (of course) - the classic white letter tires for this muscle car. Low mileage on the tires. New Bosch battery w/ 3 year warranty Color: Vintage canary yellow with black stripes. Tan vinyl interior. VIN# and a basic Marti report (included) confirms the car to be a Mach 1 Interior very clean. Wood Grant Steering Wheel with Mustang emblem. Newer carpet Newer Floor mats Brand new stereo and speakers Mileage: *odometer stopped operating* exact mileage unknown Body - As far as I can tell, she's straight. NO existing dents and I see no evidence of bondo. Light surface rust near wheel wells and bottom of driver side door. The existing paint job is pretty low budget. Little bit of fading, bubbling, and chipping of the paint in various spots. The stripes/decals are not OEM and are peeling in some spots. Otherwise clean (top and bottom). The interior is VERY clean. More info: This is NOT a show car. It is an awesome and historic daily driver. All the work done on this car was performed by Cherokee Martin - one of the top muscle car mechanics and restoration specialists in Southern California. That being said, I didn't have the funds for Cherokee to do much on the body. If it were spotless, I'd be asking $25 to 35K. But since you wouldn't necessarily want to eat dinner off the hood, I've priced it accordingly. Put in other terms, the car is a "20-footer", i.e., from 20 feet away it looks amazing. Because it is amazing. Drive it to a Mustang meetup and people will nod with respect. But up close you see that the paint job is fading and there are little blemishes from 40 years of regular use that could be dealt with or left as is. If I were to keep the car, I would probably repaint it - fresh coat of paint and it will look as awesome as it drives. However, in its current condition it still turns heads. I've even had people pull up to me on the freeway to ask about it... while moving in traffic on the 110! Random people on the sidewalk give the thumbs up when I drive by. I'd like to think it's just me... but it's not. It's the car they like. Also, there are very few after-market features on this car. I am all about keeping vintage cars as close to stock condition/appearance as possible. Payment: Cash or Cashiers Check. $500 deposit via PayPal within 24 hours of auction end. Shipment: NO shipping. Pick up in Los Angeles area only. I'm not a dealer. You should plan to drive her home. For serious questions or to view the car with intent to purchase, email through this website or call: 310-713-2853 and leave a message. I will return your call.
