Vehicle Detail
I purchased this vehicle off an older couple who has owned it for many years. The car had been sitting for at least 5 years in the garage. The car had engine work, and was then sent to the body shop to be soda blasted and repainted. The car never got repainted for lack of funds and was left being stored in the garage. The car is aluminum with a wood frame. The frame seems very solid and doors all seem to shut well. I took my time cleaning and lubing the engine. I can tell you the oil pan was very clean with no signs of sludge or metal shavings leading me to believe the after the rebuild that the engine had limited miles. I ran fresh gas to the carb and the car fired right up. No smoke, and all the dash lights came to life. Radiator flaps opened and closed, and all gages stablized to a normal level. I put the car in first and reverse and had no clutch noise and the car moved freely. The car has a sunroof but it is missing. The car also has a window inbetween the driver and rear seat that rolles up and down for privacy. All the interior seating is orignal leather but is showing its age. Many of the parts (door handles, interior door panels, ect) were taken off the car and put in boxes. Ive gone through the boxes and at this point I dont see anything missing other than the sunroof and two buckets for the front head lights All the door panels and major parts I do have. The trunk is missing the small tool box and if I were to keep it I would work on some of the wood framing in the trunk, but it is nothing that is cauing any structural issues with the car. The aluminum body looks like it could be ready for paint. The only small areas that could use work would be some small areas on the front fenders that have some small pot marks probably from stones nd debris on the road. I sent for the Chasis card detail and got all the documentation on this car and who owned it. The body is by Barker which Im told was one of the better body producers. However, Barker had its records destroyed by fire and no documentation on this body for this car is available. The rubber is new and it also has solid black wheel covers that matched the black car. The miles Im not sure but the engine was rebuilt recently from what Im told and ebay made me stick a number in the field.
