Vehicle Detail
This is a 10 day auction ending Sunday February the 19th at 6:30PM PST. Unlike most sellers on eBay I do all I can to honestly describe the condition of my items for sale. No matter how large or small the flaw, I will mention it. $.99 Starting Bid, NO RESERVE! Bid with confidence, I've sold many rare and high line cars and bikes on eBay with only positive feedback. Listed here is my very rare 1985 Dodge Omni GLH turbo. The car has been extensively modified to be a very fast, great handling and quick stopping street, autocross or track car. This is a true "sleeper" car, and can keep up with most sports cars on the road, in both straight line acceleration and in the corners. Pretty much everything on the car has been modified and a ton of money invested in the vehicle. Although the car is not a genuine Shelby GLHS spec wise it is superior in every way (motor, turbo, brakes, suspension etc). The car is currently boosting at 17 lbs (putting down roughly 300hp) which in a ~2,200 pound car makes for an incredible power to weight ratio (better than many super cars out there). This car is not for an inexperienced driver and will spin the tires in most gears and hits the rev limiter very quickly. Being a Washington state car we don't salt our roads up here and the car is virtually rust free, something very rare for one of these Omni's. I recently purchased a new vehicle and no longer need the GLH. Because of this I'm starting this auction at $.99 with NO RESERVE. Below is a list of specifics/ modifications made to the vehicle: Body/ interior 1985 Dodge Omni GLH (Clean title) Never in any serious accidents 88,512 Miles (unsure if its rolled over) Factory air dam, fog lights side skirts Vented hood (previous owner cut out some of the under hood re-enforcements for clearance) 99% Rust free (very little surface rust in areas where paint has chipped on the body or paint was rubbed away on the floors in the interior) Non sunroof, no ac, manual windows etc (lightest one of these cars) Aftermarket race steering wheel/ hub Custom a pillar gauge pod (NO GAUGES INCLUDED) Custom mounted shifter box Carpet, sound deadening material, headliner and rear seat/ belts removed to save weight (I have the rear seat but doesn't match the front and belts) Rear window wiper mechanism removed (hole currently covered with black duct tape) Motor/ transmission/ clutch Runs and drives but NEEDS MOTOR WORK (read specifics below) TII conversion Chipped 1987 Ecu Intercooler out of a Shelby GLHS 1 piece TII intake manifold Ported exhaust manifold Garrett turbo Turbo Unlimited turbo elbow 3" downpipe 2.5" mandrel bent downpipe back exhaust (straight piped, no muffler, not too loud) HKS blow off valve (I don't believe it is authentic HKS) Adjustable wastegate actuator GM 3 bar map sensor Bosch black top injectors Accufab billet aluminum adjustable fuel pressure regulator Stage 2 camshaft Ported and polished head Mopar performance headgasket K&N style air filter Stainless steel braided oil and water turbo lines Magnecore competition spark plug wires Shelby cable shift 525 manual transmission Recently rebuilt axles Unsprung race clutch Solid adjustable rear motor mount Suspension, wheels, brakes 11" vented front big brake conversion 11" vented rear disk conversion (working ebrake but needs to be adjusted) Progressive rate performance springs front and back (brand unknown but stiff) Stiff shocks and struts front and back Large front sway bar Rear sway bar Rear polyurethane upper shock mounts Front upper stress bar 15" aluminum "pizza" style wheels (full size spare, 5 total) Falken Azenis 205 50 15 autocross tires (tread getting low but still very sticky and not showing cords) As you can see there has been a ton of money invested in aftermarket parts on this very rare Dodge. The car does need some work though. It is still very fast and runs and drives but I would not recommend driving it any distance. Below are the main issues with the car: The largest issue has to do with the bottom end of the motor and I would recommend either going through it or replacing it. There seems to be quite a bit of blow by (I noticed there is no pcv setup on the car which I have been told can cause this, just a hose running to the ground off the valve cover, the car under boost will sometimes pop the dip stick up and spray oil), it sometimes blows smoke (mainly while driving down hill under compression but sometimes after boosting the car and then hitting the throttle) and the engine has developed a strange noise (at first I thought it was a lifter but a few friends of mine said it sounds like piston slap). These 2.2l turbo engines were installed in many different Dodge/ Chrysler cars and can be purchased inexpensively or you could always throw some forged pistons in and make some huge power (I've seem people putting down well over 500whp on a properly built and tuned GLH!). The power steering leaks. Drivers side window mechanism needs help when rolling up and down. Cosmetically the car is not perfect but far cleaner than most 27 year old cars on the road. It does have the occasional ding/ small dent with the largest damage being on the bottom rear corner of the drives side door (looks like someone opened it into a rock) and a dent in back of the rear wheel on the passenger side (see pic below). The paint appears to have not been detailed for some time but would shine up very nicely with a buff and a wax. The front windshield is cracked. The wheels do have some oxidization and marks but are all straight and true (I've noticed no wobbles or vibrations with the 4 on the car, I've never used the spare though). If you have any questions or are local and want to see the car in person shoot me an email and I will get right back to you. Thank you for looking at my GLH and Happy Bidding!!!On Feb-11-12 at 00:13:30 PST, seller added the following information: I forgot to list above the motor has ARP head studs. I will continue to ad to this description if I think of anything new. On Feb-12-12 at 13:55:12 PST, seller added the following information: NEW INFO!! One of the previous owners who built part of the car contacted me and let me know more info about the vehicle. The motor is not a 2.2l but actually a 2.5l (the bottom end is out of a 1989 Daytona) with a custom tuned computer to run the setup. When he owned the car (back in August) the car still had a stock head (with the cooling mod to help the number 4 cylinder temps ), stock cam and stock exhaust manifold. I am unsure if one of the owners after this one had the head and exhaust manifold ported and added a stage 2 cam as he stated (I never removed the head or manifold) but bid like those parts are stock. On Feb-17-12 at 10:14:58 PST, seller added the following information: I forgot to mention, the rear hatch does not open with the key (although the key works for the lock, it is just missing part of the mechanism), you have to manually open the hatch from the inside.
