Vehicle Detail
I have a 1961 Ford Econoline truck that has been in Arizona its whole life. It still has plates from 1973 Arizona on it right now with the last date on the tabs of 1977 so you can tell it hasnt been driven for a long time. I have a clear Arizona title signed off by the owner from 1973 which will come with the vehicle. All the glass in the truck has been broken. I found a guy that has the back three pieces of glass used for 150 dollars which is the two curved pieces in the corner and the back glass. I see there is door glass on ebay right now for 49 dollars and Im sure they still make the front glass brand new. The engine looks like it is still in good condition. Many years ago someone took the carb, water pump and pulleys off the engine and they do come with the truck they were sitting in the cab when I bought it. The tranny, rear end and driveline is complete and still with the car. Overall the body of the truck is in good condition but there is some rust on it. Thinking the truck has been in Arizona its whole life I thought there would be no rust but they still have some rust down here but nothing like we have back home in Minnesota. I took the carpet out of the front of the truck and the front floor has some surface rust but it looks like it is in very good condition and behind the passengers seat looks like it is good, behind the drivers seat there is a hole in the floor and I looked underside and the frame is very nice and solid so you would just need to weld in about a 6 inch by 8 inch piece in the floor and you would be done. The doors have no rust on them and look very nice. Below the door on the passenger side there is an area that has a small rust spot. I dont see any rust on the front of the truck or the roof although both of those areas do have some dents that would need to be fixed. The bottom 2-3 inches on both sides of the bed have rust and on ebay they make a new replacement panel for 104 dollars I would put that on there for a repair. The box corners on both sides are in good condition except for a small rust hole which the patch would be about 3 inches by 5 inches. The bed of the truck has surface rust and some small rust holes. You would need to do some patching but it is hard to say how much. I cleaned out the bed of the truck and took several pictures so you could see it. Under the truck it looks like there is only surface rust and the frame is very solid. Basically the only way something rusts in Arizona if the vehicle is left outside for many years and water sits in there and that is exactly what happen to this. If we had this back in Minnesota this would be a dream truck to work on. The wheels and tires are rollers and of course the truck does not run. I will be here through next Tues so if someone buys it and needs help loading it I will help load it. I was going to take this back to Minnesota and it was going to cost me 540 dollars to take it back and the person I was using is Summer and her # is 313-769-6614. The last car I sold and it went to California the cost was 250 dollars just to give you an idea of how much shipping would be. She quoted a guy around 650 dollars to take one all the way to the east coast and all of these cars were inop. This truck overall is in good condition. I described everything the best I could and cleaned out the inside and the bed of the truck so I could look everything over so I could do a good job of selling the truck. I have a picture of the title front and back so you can look at it. I think the truck was red originally but it is hard to tell since someone primed it many years ago and the interior is blue right now but again Im not 100% sure that is the original color. There is a front grille that came with the truck and there is no tail gate for the truck. The heating box is in the truck and so are all the gauges and the seats are there. The top of the engine compartment had carpet on it and when I took it off the top had surface rust on it as you can see in the pictures. Please give me a call if you have any questions I will answer them the best I can. Thanks Kevin Manley. 612-275-8722
