Vehicle Detail
When the last time you saw one of these driving around? This is the hard to find Saab 900 3-door, with the classic original 900 styling. This car is a real survivor, with only 114,000 original miles. This car is a great driver, I drive it over 60 miles each day to and from work. It's straight and smooth on the freeway. The engine in this car is strong (non-turbo), it doesn't leak any oil at all, and the 5-speed manual transmission shifts as it should while remaining leak-free. Recent work to this car includes calipers, pads and rotors on all wheels (except the passenger rear wheel), exhaust, and clutch slave cylinder. The tires on the car are in good shape and have plenty of life left. Over all, this car is in great mechanical shape. This car sat for a number of years, and I've been fixing things as needed while using the car as a daily driver. It still needs a couple of things. The driver side cv joint is ready to go at anytime, it clicks loudly on turns. I am selling it like this, but I can have it repaired prior to pick-up by buyer for an additional $150, buyers choice. Also, the bushings on the passenger a-arm will eventually need replaced, you can hear it chatter over bumps. It could probably use some shocks too. Other flaws include the linkage on the passenger side windshield wiper recently became disconnected, and the driver rear tail light needs a new socket. The interior is in pretty good shape, no cracks on the dash. The headliner is gone, and the driver seat is sitting very low, I think the springs underneath need re-attached. The car has no power windows or locks, it's very old school. The rear hatch shocks need replaced, and the antenna needs replaced. The exterior of the car is ok, some rust all around, with the most significant being on the front fenders and a hole behind the passenger door. The underside is solid. The trunks shows signs of rust (pictured), but no big holes. The paint is oxidized, but cleans up to a shiny finish with some rubbing compound. All in all, this is a cool project car for a saab person, or an excellent parts car. The ski racks on top of the car go with the car! Good luck!! The listing shows the car as being located in Hiram, OH. That is incorrect, I moved to Chagrin Falls, OH 44023. Keep in mind, this is a 28 year old car, so there is no warranty expressed or implied! Sold as-is! The car is available for viewing during the auction. No shipping provided. Any bidders with zero feedback will have their bids cancelled if they have not contated me prior to bidding. On Feb-09-12 at 05:55:39 PST, seller added the following information: I've been getting a lot of questions about the car, so I just want to make a few things clear. This is a 28 year old car being sold as-is, with no reserve. Yes it drives good, but it needs work. No, I don't think this is a good choice for your 16 year old daughter as a first car (I mean, seriously?). I don't know the history of the car for the last 28 years. It sat for a while before I got it, I put a lot of time and money into this car just to get it to go down the road safely. This is a driveable project, but don't think that you can jump into this car and drive it for the next 5 years as-is, problem free. Again, please feel free to contact me with any questions, and I'll answer them to the best of my knowledge. This is the 3rd Saab 900 of mine from this era that I've sold on ebay, so I have a pretty good feel for these cars.
