This is a project car from California that is rust free and very solid. She has just been repainted a beautiful green and the exterior is in excellent condition. The interior is tan colored and is in need of a full restoration. The body style of this car is arguably the most elegant body style that Mercedes has ever made. It is timeless, classic and beautiful. This car has been dormant since the 1980's and after making sure that all lubricants were topped off and carefully hand cranking the engine a couple of times, we injected some starter fluid into the intake. With a new battery the car started right up and ran quietly and as you would expect - for about 20 seconds. The fuel system will need to be cleaned out and the injectors should be cleaned also before trying to run any fuel from the tank to the engine directly. The brakes are in great condition, the engine runs and the car comes with PB, PS, Electric Sunroof and factory AC. We cannot verify how well the airbag suspension works without the car running so there are no guarantees on this but there are also no reasons to suspect a problem. One rear door window in the 6.3 liter car is broken. All in all, for a very reasonable price, you will own a very nice 300SEL. The 300SEL 6.3 liter car is untitled but has the California pink slip used to transfer ownership. It was stolen in the 1970's and the California DMV affixed a new VIN after the car was recovered which is why it has the pink slip transfer paper. This car too good to let it pass you by.
