1930 Model A 5 Window Coupe - genuine all steel classic ! Okay Model A fans, here is the one you have been waiting for. This little Coupe has had ONE restoration since new and that was done 32 years ago ! Engine is super quiet. I removed head and installed new copper gasket, installed new radiator hoses, installed new distributor with updated style modern points & condenser. New battery, new fuel tank shut off vavle and now she is ready to GO. Carbuetor is newer updated Tilleson so engine runs extremely smooth. The car had sit unattended for 29 years in storage so it shows some signs of this. I have brought it back a long way to now, next owner can decide what direction they want to go - original - Rat Rod - semi modified - or cruiser !!! This is such a straight, rust free, 3 owner car, any choice would be lots of fun to do. Paint was done really well in the day. Color is rare Thorn Brown body and of course black fenders. Panel work was pretty exceptional as well. Doors hang solid with NO sagging and they shut with just the slightest touch. Glass is all new and perfect. Steering wheel is PERFECT, no cracks, smooth as a babys b____. The soft top was done very well also. It lays flat (not puffy) as it should. Radiator is new. Headlights work as does tail light and brake light. Brakes work. Windows roll up / down smoothly. Front winshield tips out smoothly. There is alway bad with the good, so here goes. The tires currently on the coupe sit for all those years, so though the look great, they are flat spotted and probably will require that they be replaced. And just for the record I have not got the horn working yet. Interior is incorrect in that materials used were not original, but it is very presentable and show only sign of typical wear on driver door bottom and on kick panels. This one will make a fun unit requardless of which direction you go with it. Feel free to ask questions, as I will respond asap. I will be posting updated photos in a day or two showing the hood installed as well with the floor board and mat installed. I will not accept Pay Pal as a method of payment. Cashiers check is best for me. See my Feedback. Bid to WIN ! Thanks - 1965vettes On Feb-05-12 at 15:00:38 PST, seller added the following information: I have installed the hood, floor board & rubber floor mat and have included photos to show this. I have added in the auction a new set of running board step plates that I forgot were under the seat and have never been installed. Also, have rebuild kit for the Tilleson Carb that I have never installed. I have had several requests to show underside of car. I had steam cleaned the chassis and that is why you see the primer in various locations because I was a bit too aggressive with the pressure washer. The car is as dry as they come, with almost zero pitting on frame, axles, backing plates, etc... I have also been asked if car starts fine. Let me put it this away, when I had the head off I marked exact top dead center. Then when head was reinstalled I dropped in the distributor and timing is dead on. Just touch the starter and away the little engine goes. It will idle approx. 200 rpm if need be. I can not prove with reciepts, but the engine shows sign of rebuild. Example: with head off everything was clean. Pistons were marked .090 over size. Cylinder walls showed the hone marks still. These little engines were only this quiet upon rebuild. All this to say that there should be a lot of care free driving from here till you wear it out for next rebuild !!! I am excited to see so much activity on the Model A and hopefully it will get a new owner that wants to enjoy one of these timeless little classics. If you have any other questions I will gladly answer asap. Again thanks for looking and good luck to all - Thanks ! 1965vettesOn Feb-10-12 at 18:33:07 PST, seller added the following information: The auction has had a LOT of activity. Thanks to everyone that is watching and especially to all those bidders in on the auction. I can tell you with less than 24 hours to go, we have decided to lower the RESERVE and I am fairly certain that the Model A is going to get a new owner by auctions end. With that said, please understand this is a 32 year old restoration and is by no means perfect. I have had a lot of questions about is it perfect or rate it on a scale of 1-100 etc etc. Remember as I mentioned, it said unattended for 30 years since. I polished, cleaned, and mechanically tuned on it, but there is room for more improvement as I stated in the description, and that should be appealing to most enthusists. Whatever your desire may be for the Coupe, you should have fun with this one. It is a really correct unmolested Model A so that could be the direction you may desire to leave it. Good luck to everyone. Feel free to continue to ask questions & will respond to all. Get you car hauler ready !!!! Thanks - Larry in Missouri
