Take a look at this beautiful and rare 2001 BMW 540i 6-speed Sport Premium Package. This two owner car is in excellent condition both mechanically and cosmetically. The first person to see and drive this 540 will buy it - it is ridiculously nice. Finished in stunning Titanium Silver with black leather. It has never had any body damage and wears the original factory paint on all panels. This car has some highly desirable options - I believe every available option offered in the '01 5 series. Sport Package, Premium package, Navigation system, Xenon lights, Rear seat sunshades (even on the side windows), Sport seats, Sport Steering Wheel. It has power everything - seats (10-way), windows, sunroof, mirrors, on-board computer, programmable garage opener, heated seats... and everything works properly. The 2001 5 series was the first year for the "angel eye" lights. BMW enthusiast owned and maintained. Exclusively serviced with Amsoil Synthetic oil for the past 40,000 miles. Lots of recent maintenance including - New radiator, valley pan gaskets, valve cover gaskets, power steering lines and a host of other seals and gaskets - All common 5 series maintenance items that you will not have to worry about for a long time. Less than 5,000 miles on a nice set of Yokohama tires. Also, the instrument cluster was replaced at the BMW dealership eliminating the failing pixel problem that plagued these cars. The pixels are 100% working both on the instrument cluster and the heating/AC controls. The brakes and clutch feel great. The steering is spot on and has no play. It is smooth and quiet on the highway. No unusual noises, rattles or vibrations. The exterior condition is excellent. The only complaint is some minor chipping/pitting on the front of the hood and front bumper from road debris. The interior shows almost as good as new. Very minor wear on the drivers seat bolster. Some of the photos make the interior look faded or washed out - this is due to the sun and camera flash (and my lack of photography skills) The interior looks great. This 540 is ready for anything. It can be a comfortable, reliable, mild mannered everyday car, but it really comes to life on spirited drives. It is an excellent road trip machine. Current mileage is only 87k. It has been sparingly used mostly just on the weekends and for road trips. No smoking, no pets, no kids... I have owned several BMW's ranging from 3-7 series. The 5 continues to be my favorite. You just can't beat the perfect balance of comfort, performance, and reliability of a 5-series BMW (especially one with the sport package). It really is the ultimate driving machine. I will really hate to see this car go. It is the nicest E39 540 I have seen in several years. I can meet at the Indianapolis Airport if you would like to fly in and drive the car home.
