Vehicle Detail
You are bidding on a 1953 ford f100 pickup. I have owned the truck for a little over a year and just use it for a cruiser. Body: The truck is driven on a regular basis and is very solid. The body is in very good condition for the year. It has a few rust spots on the top of each front fenders and looks like the running boads have been repaired. Other than the running boards I see no obvious signs of filler or any bodywork for that matter. It has the usual small dents and dings you might expect for a truck. 4 holes on cowl have been filled with silicon. Truck has a rattle can paint job, painted by one of the former owners, but has a great rat rod look. All glass original Ford. Windows roll up and down faily well. Small crack in the passenger side, drivers side window has many cracks. Vents open and close freely. Doors open and close good. Tailgate and hood function as they should. Bed has newer tong/groove carsiding. Mechanical: The drivetrain is the original straight six with a three on the tree tranmission. Runs very well and shifts good. Oil fitler has been converted to new style. Intake/Exhaust manifold was just replaced with NOS ford parts. Electrical has been upgraded to 12volt. Generator was just rebuilt a year ago. Speedometor works, but on occasion will jump around. Fuel gauge works but somes reads wrong. I have an extra speedometer and gauge set that wil go with the truck. I have never tried the windshield wipers, but is all there. Exhaust is newer, but very basic. Brakes: Manuel-not powered. Brake system was updated this summer. All new brake lines, new corvette style master cylinder w/residual valves. Front disc brake conversion that included updated clutch/brake linkage. I have an new set of rear brake pads that go with the truck as well as all of the original linkage parts. Interior: Floor has sound deadner with newer carpeting. Original seat, recovered with automotive vinyl but just wrapped around like a seat cover. Dash was repainted but left original Headliner is home-made but looks pretty good. New visors. Heater/blower works. Overall interior looks good, but nothing fancy. Wheels: Basic f150 15" 5 bolt wheel with ford hubcaps. I advise coming to look at the truck in person. Ebay vehicles always looks better in pictures than in person. Email me with any questions or call rob@ 309-221-0918 . Daytime calls are best, I will not answer after 7pm or before 7am. I will only accept cash in person or paypal. No certified checks, personal checks, or money orders. $500.00 deposit and can be stored for a little while if we discuss in advance. Currently stored in a heated garageOn Jan-30-12 at 19:24:20 PST, seller added the following information: To cover a couple of questions I have been asked. Yess...clear Illinois title. Rims are all the same on all four corners 5x5.5x15-7" wide. There is a little rust just starting on the passenger side cab corner. There is no apparent frame damage. Frame is in very good shape light rust/mostly factory paint and grease/oil.
