Vehicle Detail
Original 1967 Mustang Convertible V8 - LOW RESERVE! "C" Code 289-V8 2 barrellUnmolested Original ConditionPower Top, Power Steering & Power BrakesFactory A/CWhite Wall Tires I originally purchased this Mustang with intention of a light restoration project. Upon further inspection, I realized that this Mustang is more original than I figured. The paint, trim, glass, interior are all original and in incredible shape! There are no signs of repaint on the trim or chrome. The brittle diagram decals under the trunk lid and rear plate (as seen in picture) also suggest original paint. A car is only original once and I’d hate to tamper with this level of originality. I was able to decode the VIN and Body Plate at Mustangdecoder.com, VIN Number: 7T03C284526 Year: 7 1967 Plant: T Metuchen, NJ Body Series: 03 Convertible Engine: C 289 2v V8 Unit: 284526 284526 Body Plate No.: 76A T 2A 13U 24 0 W Body: 76A Convertible, Standard Interior Color: T Candyapple Red Trim: 2A Black Crinkle Vinyl, Standard Interior Date: 13U July 13, 1967 D.S.O: 24 Jacksonville Axle: 0 2.79:1, Conventional Trans: W C4 Automatic This Mustang has spent its time entirely in Florida and owned by the same family until my recent purchase of the car. Shipped from the assembly plant in Metuchen, NJ to District 24 (Jacksonville, FL), it was purchased new at a Ft. Lauderdale, FL dealership by a banker’s wife. Sometime in the 80’s the title was transferred to her nephew, Mr. Courtney Senior in Homestead, FL. The Mustang was in his possession and well taken care of until his demise in 2004, in which ownership was transferred to the third owner, his son, John Courtney. During this time, the Mustang was rarely driven and always garaged. Any close inspection of this vehicle will always conclude that it has been well taken care of and garaged in order for it to be in such rare original condition. Clear Title. The exterior of this car is in great original condition. The “Candyapple Red” paint shows some typical wear and dings but it’s true to its age. The front end of the car consist of specs of the paint blistering, (reference photos) the rear of the car is far more immaculate in comparison. Chrome and trim is in great condition and shows no signs of rust. The trunk and floor pans are solid as a rock. The interior is also in nice condition with a perfect dash and door panels, and not a single tear in the black vinyl or carpet, which shows no fade. Not a single crack on the steering wheel or dash. 289 CID V8 Engine, 2 Barrel Carburetor, C4 Automatic Transmission, Power Steering, Power Brakes, Power Top and Factory A/C. The engine sounds good and starts up every single time. There are absolutely no leaks from any part of the engine compartment or undercarriage that I can see. I have noticed sluggish acceleration meaning the carburetor should be rebuilt. Please bare in mind; this is a 45 year old car, it is in original condition and it was basically just pulled out of storage, I would highly recommend a complete tune up. The odometer reads 96,678. Based on the condition of the car I would assume the miles are original. The electrical components are in fine working order. The original radio works great with radiant sound. Wipers function perfectly. Headlights, gauge and interior lights, brake lights, dash panel indicators and hood indicators all light up as they should! Turn-signal repeater lights nestled at the hoods scoops forward ends, easily visible to the driver. This is an option I have rarely seen! Wide, longitudinal recesses on the hood. The electric convertible top rises and lowers as it should without hesitation, there is a split in the glass (see photos) but the canvas itself has no tears! If you’re looking for an incredibly original classic 1967 Mustang Convertible 289 this is it! Anyone is more than welcome stop by and inspect the car.
